The room was fair. My biggest complaint was the road noise from I-75 which backs up to the property. The hotel walls are quite thin and loud trucks and traffic was disturbing to both me and my dog until wee hours of the morning. Also, the hotel did not have a very well defined or safe area for walking my dog.

The rate was good, the dog was free, desk staff nice. But it’s old and shabby. To me that’s okay IF it’s clean. This place felt icky. They only clean rooms after four nights that’s one thing but should also be at the end of every stay. The bath fixtures and bedding did seem clean, but this room hasn’t had a detail for some time. Floor especially dirty and not from us. I swiped wet cloth across the floor near the wall. Ugh. Jilly, who brought her own bed didn’t mind. But then again she’s stayed at a kennel before.

All the great reviews I don’t understand. This place is really shabby. They have housekeeping only after 4 nights. Though you can exchange and change your own sheets and towels if you want. You put your own garbage bins in the hall to be picked up. Slight doggy smell (I also have a dog in my house every day and don’t have that smell, neither did last night's motel so I know it can be done.). Our bedding and bath fixtures seemed clean thankfully. Tile floors may or may not be clean. I didn’t check but they don’t look pristine, I kept my socks on the whole time. The desk clerk was nice. Room rates affordable and dogs stay free. I appreciate all places that welcome dogs but this one seems to be struggling.

Good location near 75 and all the pet-friendly rooms are on the first floor making it easy to take your dogs out for exercise or bathroom breaks. This also helps to avoid elevator rides with unfamiliar dogs that could quickly turn into cage matches.

Walking distance to Target and many fast food places. I felt welcomed when I brought my Labmix Niki. Very comfortable.

If I could give zero “bones” I would. Our room is filthy. There are hairs on the pillows and towels. The laminate floors are really dirty and there was something that looked like a seed from a jalapeño on the packaging of the “complimentary” facial soap in the bathroom. If we did not arrive so late at night while traveling we would have left and found another hotel. It is also understaffed and not very well run. We will never stay here again and would not recommend it to anyone.

Really enjoyed our overnight stay At Red Roof. Very clean and dog accommodating. We had to do food delivery for dinner because you couldn’t leave dog unattended which was a bummer but had a delicious pizza delivered. No pet fee which was nice. Would stay there again.

This a true 3 bone hotel. Not fancy, but not a dump. It's just an average hotel, with average updates, and average aging and wear. We stayed on two different nights. One room smelled like cat pee with a rickety old a/c that smelled equally as bad. The second room had no odor whatsoever and had a better a/c. The pet-friendly rooms have hard floors which is ideal for proper cleaning and sanitation between guests. There is carpeting that surrounds just the beds. I suspect that carpet is gross, so I just made sure to not put my bare feet on it. The mattresses are pretty hard and the pillows are very flat, it's unfortunately not a great night's sleep. The bedding however, was at least very clean and felt nice. The staff was super friendly as well.

I wasn’t expecting much, but was delightfully surprised at the cleanliness of my recently upgraded room. They made my dog and I feel very safe and comfortable. The grounds kept my furry companion entertained with how much there was to explore. Beautiful property.

The floors were visibly dirty and felt gross to walk on. I kept my shoes on and I laid towels from my bed to the bathroom so my feet would stay clean.

It’s wonderful that all red roof allows pets. Room was very clean. This is the second time I stay in the Red Roof and just like the first time, the walls are extremely thin so you hear everything your neighbors are doing. Turning on the fan option on the AC helps drown out the noise. Just wish they were better insulated. I would stay here again though, can’t beat the price and convenience.

We stayed in a king suite. The room was very clean with ample space for the 2 of us and our dog. There was ample parking and areas to walk the dog. The area has everything you could need however the traffic is very busy.

Nothing fancy, but it was clean and served its purpose. Only needed a place to crash overnight before continuing our travels to our final destination. Very pet friendly, location is quiet, nice & plenty of space to walk the fur baby. Vinyl floors throughout which is convenient when traveling with a dog. Bed was comfy and everything was in working order. Only “issue” was a broken curtain, but hubby managed to tack up one end so we were able to get a good nights sleep with no light coming in. All in all not bad for the price.

Very nice, clean room! We had a room right next to an exit. The surrounding area is pet friendly with lots of grass and sidewalks. We felt very safe.

The desk clerk was very friendly. The king room was HUGE for the price with fridge, coffee maker, microwave, 32” TV, safe in room for extra fee, desk area with office chair, lots of pillows, and all the necessary toiletries. The room was a little musty smelling, but no smoke smell. (Smokers are charged $200 if caught!) The smell was likely from the carpeted area around the bed or the HVAC unit. I carry Lysol spray and a small air purifier, and that took care of it. some of the fixtures and paint could use a spruce-up, and I think they’ve used something to clean the floors that has made them sticky - possibly bleach broke down the finish. They were clean, though. I saw NO evidence of any bugs. The sheets and towels all looked and smelled very clean. Leo The Great Dog and I travel all over the country doing pet transport, and for the price point, this was definitely one of our better hotel experiences! Oh, and with the Red Roof rewards program, you also get a discount and earn points towards free stays! (No, I do not work for them nor was I paid to post this review! I just like helping pet owners find great travel deals!)

Not clean under any circumstances let alone during Covid. No social distancing, staff didn’t follow through with guests who were not wearing masks. Room had roaches, no water pressure - and the person who stayed next to us was smoking.

Got here at night so couldn’t see area. Front desk was very nice and I liked that masked were required but only to check in. Dead roach in microwave. Lost my appetite but at least it was dead and I’m trying to lose weight anyway.

I am a Gainesville local and had to move out of my house for 2 nights for termite tenting. This was happening during COVID-19 "stay at home" orders. The management allowed me to check in a few hours early. The room was clean and in good condition. A grassy area completely surrounded the hotel parking lot and was perfect to walk my dog safely at any time of day/night. They had poop bags and a bin for waste. It was the most reasonable cost per night and didn't have a pet fee. I would recommend staying there.

We had a great stay and felt very welcomed upon our arrival. It helps to put you at ease during your travels when your furry friend is just as welcomed as you are. We ended up needing to stay an additional night and they accommodated us immediately. The room was clean, comfy and quiet. Plenty of room outdoors to take the pup to go potty and exercise them a bit. We would definitely come back and stay again!

The price was good as well as the location. Yes, they've upgraded but there's peeling paint up high on the ceilings and bit icky black cobwebs up in the corner. The toilet tank cover was way oversized for the toilet. No microwave in the room which was fine so I went to the common area and the one there was icky and skanky. As the evening come on, the local probably road crew workers came in who seem to be quasi living there. One left his dinner in the sole microwave. He did apologize for leaving it there. There were some sketchy people around outside and I had people drive by begging for money while I was out with my boy. I did sleep very well. What was funny was that they had three pillows in each bed and it had a label of firm, soft and medium. But the label didn't match the pillow. The staff I dealt with were very pleasant and helpful. So, for a quick stop on a drive thru, well, okay. Oh, and the outside motion sensor light bulbs were unscrewed so I screwed them back in. The room was pretty clean. Close to Publix and other stores and fast food places. Don't know if I'd stay there again tho. Good price.

We stayed just 1 night to bring our pet to UF vet hospital. Location was good with restaurants, shopping & distance to Vet Hospital. Easy to find. However that was the only positive. The non-smoking room we requested & paid for ...the smell of cigarette smoke hit us as soon as we opened the door. The room smelled terrible like cigarette smoke. Our belongings and pet smelled like that when we left! The room was dirty. Going outside during the night was uncomfortable due to the questionable guys randomly walking through the parking lots & hanging out in vehicles. I asked for an upgrade to a newer room & was told I was in one. I was not. The newer rooms have specified signs on door. Will never stay here or recommend it.

We decided to stop in and catch some sleep before continuing on a road trip. The hotel is conveniently located right off the interstate near a bunch of great stores and places to eat.
Our room was clean and the parking lot was well lit, we felt safe and secure.
Will definitely stop into this one again if we ever need to.

Clean, safe and very convenient to restaurants and Interstate. Plenty of space to walk dogs. Staff friendly. The floors are wood-like to slippery and My 14-year old lab is in a harness so I travel with matts and was able to put those on the ground. So if your dog has trouble walking ... either bring matts, rugs or it may not work for you. We got the King superior room which gave enough room for her orthopaedic bed
