We were placed on the 5th floor. This floor is run down and the carpet smells of old cigarette smoke. Back door entrance does not close securely. Staff was nice but we left after an hour due to the smoke smell.

Hotel worst we have stayed in in many years but treated our Fido fine. Hotel very old. One key did not work. No TV remote, took 1/2 hour to get another. One lamp did not work & not because bad bulb. One wall lamp did not work. Quite a few small dark bugs flying around inside the room. Turned out lights with wall switch & TV went off. Toilet seat would not stay up.

The 2 bones are for the staff here, they were lovely and kind. The physical condition of the hotel was a bit of a shock. Many areas including the front desk appear to be in a state of stalled out renovation. The elevator was dirty and beat up, the wallpaper is sagging, the hallways smelled funky and in our room the carpet and curtains were badly stained. Lesson learned not all La Quinta Inns are created equal. The one in Brunswick, GA is immaculate.

La Quinta Lakeland FL is filthy dirty. Carpets are ready to walk by themselves. Mold and dirty bathrooms. Water running in bathtub all the time. No stopper in tub to take a bath. Sink crack and filthy. We were moved twice. Was a wee bit better but dirty. Such filth I've never seen. Complained at front desk for manager to meet with me, but he never did. Hotel seriously should be condemned. It's that bad. Bad attitude at service desk. Flies and roaches everywhere.

We only stayed one short night and it was adequate. We made our reservation through the BringFido website and were surprised when we arrived and were told there was a pet fee. Kudos to BringFido! When I emailed the company to inform them, BringFido not only immediately corrected their website to reflect the fee, they also refunded the pet fee I paid to the hotel. Two things of note: 1. The "pet relief" grassy area is about 5' x 20" and well used. My dog actually vaulted it and would not walk on it. There were some grassy strips at near by shops but the area is right next to the Interstate and has very heavy traffic. So be sure to keep your pet leased. 2. The hotel is not serving any type of food in the morning. Coffee only. Otherwise, it was clean enough for a quick stop over.

I only stayed one night but this hotel was the best pet-friendly hotel in Lakeland that I've stayed at! Highly recommended!

Clean & surprisingly quiet, considering how many dogs were there for the show/competitions in town.
It’s close to lots of food options including a grocery store.

What impressed me most was the cleanliness of the room. The front desk staff was very friendly and professional. They honored my request for a top floor room and my stay was great!!

Rooms were very clean but dated. Front desk staff extremely friendly and helpful. Hotel was full so had to get an upper floor with my pet. I’d stay there again.
