  Spacious but dated

  Really enjoyed the great amount of space in our room! And there were lots of close places to walk the dog, plenty of grass around the hotel itself. The only issue is that some of it feels a little date and could use a facelift. But still a nice hotel that I would stay at again.

  Long in the tooth

  We have stayed here before because it has an excellent area to walk or exercise the dog. Unfortunately the entire property is long in the tooth! Everything needs to be cleaned and freshened. Very poor maintenance; cigarette butts all over the ground by exit doors, there was garbage in the grass by the dog exercise area with chicken and rib bones that are dangerous for dogs. Will definitely try to find a newer place in the future.

  Great room

  The hotel is nice and very clean. There is a small pond w a walking path behind the hotel that’s good for pups, but there is a lot of goose waste. Check-in was super quick and everyone was friendly.

  Great stay

  This hotel was super accommodating and treated me good. I’ve since chosen to stay at Staybridge Suites for the remainder of my road trip.

  Everything We Hoped For

  The location was perfect and the staff was amazing! Extremely helpful and are even doing breakfasts and little social evening happy hour which has been a much-missed amenity past year or so. Will definitely stay again.

  Best Stay of the Trip

  This is a really nice suite hotel and room set up is wonderful. Bed was also super comfortable. Great choice to spend a night in transit with my Lab.

  Nice stay

  Overall, it was an okay stay. The elevator was out of service so a bit of an effort to get an extra large crate in & out to a 3rd floor room. Nice walkway around a pond to walk the dog. Nice hotel staff. Apologized many times for the elevator being out due to a delayed part.

  Staybridge Suites West Des Moines

  Front desk help no where to be found on arrival. Had to go looking for them at 11:00pm. Neither of them had masks on when they finally got around to checking me in despite signs all over lobby requiring people to wear masks. On departure the next morning, front desk clerk did not have a mask on. Few minutes later, he stood directly outside main entrance and smoked a cigarette again, no mask. Really disappointed!!

  Beautiful place to stay

  The hotel is very nice, lots of green space for our dog to be out in. Room was very clean and there were plenty of amenities. No breakfast because of COVID concerns but there are a number of places in the area to eat and shopping is close also

  Great place for your pooch

  We came through on our road trip and this new hotel was very nice and welcoming. No problem with the dog and the rooms are spacious with kitchenettes. Nice and clean

  The Best Pet Friend Hotel

  We enjoyed 4 nights at this wonderful pet friendly hotel. The manager and the staff were very friendly, affectionate and accommodating to our dog. In all our travels we have never before been greeted so graciously. There is a lake out back and large area to walk your pet. We will definitely plan to revisit this hotel when we are traveling through Iowa.

  Loved walking around the pond

  We've stayed at this hotel twice with our 2 dogs. We had a wonderful room on the first floor the first time we stayed which is partly why we stayed a second time. Our room on the fourth floor for our second visit wasn't nearly as nice: stains in the carpet, patches in the ceiling, much smaller bathroom and kitchen areas. However, the fourth floor room was very quiet (except for the heater, which we ended up turning off when we went to sleep). Breakfast is very good with a nice variety. Our favorite thing about this hotel is the pond in back for walking the dogs around. It was perfect for exercising the dogs on our 3 day road trip.
