  Just ok

  We have stayed in other La Quintas that were much better. This one seemed a bit run down, but we chose it because it looked like the best choice in Salina. The woman at the front desk was polite but not friendly. Even after I got stuck in their elevator for 10 minutes with another person and my dog. No apology, nothing. Plenty of space for dog relief outside. The free breakfast was convenient, but they don't allow dogs in the dining area, which I get, but most other places at least offer another area in the lobby away from the food to sit and eat with your pets. Not here, their lobby is small and they just had a beat up couch next to the front desk. So we had to eat in our rooms because they don't allow you to leave your pets unattended in the rooms either!

  Location was good

  I loved that so many of us were welcome with our big dogs! I loved that the floors were not carpeted - big plus! I loved the bathtub (I hate showers!). The two downsides were that that bed was a bit hard, and the bathtub drained very slowly. Other than that, I would stay again!

  Ok location

  Hotel was older, we were put in room 102 which was easy access to the outside to take our dog out, but it was noisy since the lobby and breakfast are was basically right there. The doors were very thin, so you could hear everything. Cost was a bit high for what it was and they charged a pet fee even though our dog is an ESA. So, unfortunately, it cost more than a Candlewood Suites that we are in now for one night and Candlewood in O'Fallon IL is way better and cleaner.

  So many dogs

  Great place to stay with your pooch! Front desk was super accommodating. They even had poop bags at the front! Only downside was where they could go potty, but what can you expect.

  Room is great, the lock not so much

  Room 111 key lit the lock up but the mechanical lock kept getting hung up. 9 times trying to get in with a dog in tow; they kept re-setting the key but I told them it was the mechanical lock itself.

  Changed rooms

  The first room we received was on the first floor and reeked of urine. A room on the third floor was much better and could only smell urine in halls. People need to keep dogs not potty trained out of hotels because it ruins it for the rest of us. Put your dog in a kennel if its not trained.

  Okay place to stay with pets

  So this La Quinta charges a pet fee. Something we have not been accustomed to in our travels. Our experience has been 0 pet fee at La Quinta but anyway. This was not the cleanest place but it did the trick. Bottom line is that folks traveling with pets don't have much of a choice. It is getting to a place where no hotel or motel is truly pet friendly because they charge a fee and most charge ridiculous fees. If faced with the same situation again though I would likely stay here or sleep in my vehicle.

  The hotel is dated, room was satisfactory for overnight, breakfast was limited to processed flour and sugary items, dogs permitted with small fee, no special treatment for pets,

  Nice stay with 3 dogs

  We stayed at this La Quinta on a trip with our 3 (very well mannered but large) dogs. I’m writing this review to let you know how nice it was for our stay and to counter some of the poor reviews left in the past. Our room was very well cleaned and nicely appointed. The room and the facility are due for some maintenance but were well within our comfort level. For example, holes in the bathroom wall had been patched but not yet repainted. The desk staff person was very nice and I felt the pet fee was reasonable. I so appreciate hotels that let us stay with our dogs! Thanks La Quinta, Salina, KS staff and management.

  Dirty

  Room wreaked of urine!!!! We were given some kind of spray to “eliminate” the odor. We were moving cross country and exhausted. It was hard to sleep, felt filthy and just disgusting.

  Not Impressed

  You get what you pay for with hotels, but my options were slim and under short circumstances. The room smelled like urine, even though BringFido mentioned that there wasn’t a pet fee, we were still charged a pet fee (It was apparently implemented a few weeks ago). When we turned the water on, water came out brown. Blotchy paint everywhere. Lots of dog poop in the grass.

  Sign inside said they have a pet fee but BringFido said no fee. The lady said she had been trying to get it changed but nobody will change it.

  So so

  Grateful for a hotel that allows dogs when we needed shelter from a tornado watch. BUT hard to believe it’s a La Quinta! Very dated, run down rooms. First one smelled so much of dog pee I asked to change and the second smelled doggy but not intolerable. Stained carpet, dinged walls. Desk clerk said they’d be putting more money into the property- can’t be soon enough.

  Decent option in Salina

  The LaQuinta was decent. The rooms are recently renovated but some areas could use touch up here or there. Grass area around hotel but some sides more than others. Convenient location just off the highway.

  Starting to look tired

  We have been at this location before about eight years ago and it is now a bit rundown. There are only two options and for us, this wa she only option since there was four of us and two dogs.

  Welcomed 3 Small dogs

  Clean, affordable, and approved our 3 small dogs to stay in our room. Breakfast was good wirh combination of hot and cold foods. Highly recommend.

  Very dog friendly

  Very dog friendly but getting somewhat dated. The room was clean and cool. The check in was efficient and quick. We liked the location next to interstate 70.

  Not La Quinta Standards

  We always stay at La Quinta because we have two dogs. And they are always clean and comfortable. This one is the exception. The room smelled musty, The TV did not work, it has a overall dirty feeling!

  Surprisingly Nice

  No complaints, fairly new or remodeled, offers a hot breakfast, friendly staff, pets seemed to like the room for a night stay, pet area to do their business is fairly small but does the job.
