I understand the place is under new management. Hopefully they do some major renovation. Our room had a large amount of deferred maintenance, (filthy carpeting, broken handle on the microwave, bits of torn away floorboard, etc). Upon entering, the smell of poorly cleaned urine covered by cleaning product hits the nostrils. Can’t imagine what the pet fee is actually used for since they don’t seem to be cleaning up after pet damage.
They are not staffed to manage maintenance issues that arise, or even to man the front desk continuously. Upon arrival, we used the toilet in the room (just #1) and it backed up on flushing. Reached out to the front desk and the solution was to hand us a plunger…. after they were able to locate one. At another point I was waiting at the front desk for 10 minutes before I had to ask one of the passing maids if she could help me find someone to speak with. Not a cheap place when you factor in the $50/pet fee on top of the rate.

This hotel was semi-dog friendly. They allowed our small dog, but the fee was $50, which was almost as much as we paid for two human adults. The room was large, pretty clean, and had what we needed. However, the hotel was very loud with thin walls and ceiling. We heard people in the hallway and above us all night and we were right next to the exit. The location was fine, but I don’t think that I’d stay here again with my dog. For the price with the dog fee, there were other higher-quality comparable options very close by.

The hotel was older but nice enough for our needs and a good price for a pet friendly place to spend the night, especially for a suite. However, we could hear EVERYTHING through the walls. And unfortunately for us, our neighbors were having a lot of fun around 4:30 AM. Other than wishing my ears didn’t work so well, the room itself was clean and comfortable enough.

Room was clean and spacious-we were able to toss the ball with our dog, which is his favorite thing to do. Enjoyed having the kitchen area, fridge & freezer which was great for our dinner we brought with us and cooler food storage. Outside area was pet friendly as well. Would stay at a Hawthorn Suites again!

It seemed like a great choice, it wasn't. The walls are thin, so there is a lot of noise which aggravates pets. The hotel allowed people to congregate outside my room window, which was also a hassle.
There were doggy bags for cleaning up after your pet, but no real green space to let them use the restroom.
FYI - the hotel bed was the very most uncomfortable bed I have ever slept on. I would not recommend this hotel at all.

Very friendly staff upon check in. Room was large, full size refrigerator, very clean and gas station next door and Mexican restaurant across the street for a bite to eat. Was given convenient ground floor room . As a woman traveling alone, would not hesitate to come back

Nice clean hotel. Friendly staff. Decent areas around hotel to walk dogs. I felt safe as I was traveling alone with two dogs and would definitely recommend to anyone.
