    The Country Inn at Camden Rockport was conceived and built to provide our guests with the ambience of yesteryear with the amenities of today.From rooms with the comfort and feel of a New England Farmhouse to the availability of WI FI, the Inn meets our guests needs. Our staff is there to assist with any problem or concern, and can help with every aspect of our guests stay from where to get dinner, to planning a day trip or where to see a puffin. Situated on five acres of landscaped property, the Inn is just one mile south of downtown Camden which surrounds one of the most beautiful harbors on the coast and five miles north of Rockland which has developed into an active arts and ocean related community. There is plenty of space to stroll, have a pick up ball game, or just relax and enjoy the day.The Country Inn at Camden Rockport property includes 36 suites in the main building and 11 more in freestanding seasonal cottages. All provide comfortable, homey surroundings, and are equipped with service bars, refrigerators, and pull out couches for the extra guest or child. Rooms are set up with a choice of two queen size or single king size bed, some feature whirlpool tubs or fireplaces. Activities at The Country Inn at Camden Rockport range from a chess or Scrabble game in the library to a workout in the exercise room. There is a large indoor pool as well as a hot tub and sauna. Each morning guests are treated to our Country Breakfast Buffet, which includes fresh baked breads, fruits, and quiche. In the afternoon there are pastries at teatime. Evening brings the Inns chocolate chip cookies to top off the day. Groups are welcomed. The combination of comfort and facility has made The Country Inn at Camden Rockport a favorite of small groups for retreats, and businessmen for extended stays.       Thermostat broke

      PRO: They had dog beds, treats and bowls in the room. Hotel was very cute and looked like it would be lovely in summer. Pool was fine for my teens and breakfast was adequate. Room was large with sliders to outside for dog walking and micro/fridge plus sink area was a bonus. CON: It was an unusually warm evening and we were going to sit by the fire pit with a glass of wine after a long drive but it wouldn't turn on. Wifi wasn't great.

      DEALBREAKER: thermostat was set at 70 when we entered room and it was warm! (It was almost 50 outside). We turned thermostat down to 65 and went to get dinner, came back and it was 73 in room. Turned heat to off, opened window and turned on a/c unit. Called front desk. Night worker said it's a known problem and nothing he could do about it but would notify maintenance in am. He brought me a tiny fan that didn't get cool. Spent a sleepless night tossing and turning as even w/ window open and a/c on room never got below 71. Reported it again in am at check out and got a very dismissive "yeah we know."

      My son is going to school in the area and this could have been a great place for us when visiting or dropping off/picking up but driving home tonight for 7 hours after no sleep was a deal breaker.
