  This facility is clean and they have a great staff. However, some furnishings and parts of the building are well worn, e.g. the upholstered chair in our room was dirty and had threads hanging off the arms, the bottom of the bathroom door was peeling off, repairs had been made to the edge of the bathtub, but whoever did the work did a poor job.

  This place was clean, friendly staff, and they have a great outdoor fenced area for dogs to play. We walked to a nearby restaurant and took the pup. On the way back she picked up a bunch of burr-like stickers in her paws. They're easy to remove, but I couldn't believe how many she picked up in only a few steps. So beware while walking anywhere outside the lush hotel grass.

  Found the enclosed grass area, excellent spot for our little guy to stretch his legs. No pet fee is a bonus. Breakfast is good, bed was very comfortable. Room door didn’t lock properly but overall it was very good.

  Always a Great Stay

  For the past 3 years, we've stayed at La Quinta North Platte for a night on our trip to Colorado. Our dogs are always welcome and treated as if they belonged there. We love the outside area for the dogs and the milk bones in the lobby. We will be back again next year!!

  Room smelled of strong cat urine. Tile in bath and entry was sticky. Took our dog to the dog courtyard. We couldn’t get back through the door. Later I went to the waterfall courtyard. I couldn't get back through that door either.

  It was okay. Bathroom was in rough shape. It also ended up being incredibly expensive overnight. I wish we would’ve picked a different hotel closer to restaurants and paid a pet fee somewhere else.

  First of all, we appreciate that there was no dog fee. The room was very nice; the only thing we noticed was that the bathroom could use a bit of cosmetic work. They had dog treats and poo bags, and ample space to walk our critter. Breakfast was great, and we were even serenaded by the gentleman who was overseeing the breakfast operation! We highly recommend this hotel.

  Comfortable and Clean Oasis

  Traveling with three dogs is hard and people want to charge an arm and a leg. This was the last hotel we stayed at during our cross country trip heading back home. After a 12 hour day on the road it was so nice to see a place that had a ton of room for dogs to run (a courtyard and a large field next to the hotel and the grass was nice and clean). The rooms are nice and the staff is so friendly! And the pet fee was minimal. Highly recommend

  Great Locale and the "Best" walking venue for the dogs

  This North Platte La Quinta was one of the most lovely settings for walking the dogs - along the river's edge - stunning. Rooms were clean and staff professional. It was fun to take the dogs to Scouts Rest Ranch where they were able to walk around the Billy Cody's property, see Bison and walk through the barn.

  Got all of the essentials right. Friendly staff, nice sized room, comfortable plush bed, cold AC and hot water. Pretty recently renovated with good furniture and clean carpet. The walls and ceiling are a little thin and our dogs certainly noticed the other dogs in rooms nearby; we were woken up by a stomper upstairs in the early hours. The continental breakfast was a little bland, not bad but not a highlight of our stay.

  The room was on the first floor and right by the exit, which was awesome for my pups. They upgraded me to a king as well and it had a bedroom w a door that closed so my pups couldn’t hear noises from the hallway. There is a nice pool and it’s right off the Cherry Creek trail (it’s literally behind the building). Just don’t walk there late at night…it can be dangerous (especially for women). There are a ton of shops and food in the area. Highly recommend!

  Was our last stop during a road trip Illinois to California. The views along the way were amazing, and we got a close spot to the exit door. There’s a little grass area around the corner and across the parking lot a bigger dirt/grass area. :)

They had treats ready for my dog, everything was super dog friendly, and had a large fenced yard area I could run him in before we got back on the road. Truly great!   Stinks to the High Heavens

  The positive is that our room was very large and the bed was comfortable enough. Also, no pet fee, but I think that is the problem with this hotel. Over my travels, I am noticing a correlation between hotel cleanliness and pet fees or lack of pet fees. This hotel’s side entry hallway and stairwell smell like an actual dog pound. Thank goodness we were on the first floor because I am sure I would have gagged from the odor had I needed to walk up that flight of steps. Maybe a dog (or dogs) had a horrible and uncontrollable accident in that stairwell on that particular day. Maybe the aroma is an accumulation of accidents over time. I don’t know, but it was disgusting how it horrible it smelled. The first floor hallway leading to our room also smelled like dogs and dog issues, but not as bad as the stairwell. The smell also seeped into our room. The closer we got to the bed end of the room, the fainter the smell. But once it was time to move towards the bathroom or exit the room… hello dog stink. In the future, when I book a room with my dog, I am willing to pay a pet fee. My hunch is that people who care enough to pay pet fees are more mindful of their animals activities in public places.

  This hotel was a great stop on our cross country drive with dogs. They have a fenced dog area for some off leash time, if your dogs are into that and people were nice about taking turns. If you prefer to walk dogs, there is ample grass and it’s really nice! Be warned that they have an excellent set of sprinklers that go off around 630 am (at least in September 2021) and soak everything. Walk earlier or after. Those things are powerful. Breakfast was great and the staff was super nice and welcoming. There were lots of canine guests on our hallway and everyone seemed to be a first class traveler.

  This is the most modern, clean, amenity-generous La Quinta we’ve visited; the kids enjoyed the pool, we loved breakfast by the waterfall out back. Our pup LOVED every minute of the doggy yard (fenced, clean, off-leash fun), treats at the front desk, and dozens of friends walking the hallways. Great place to stay.

  We’ve stayed here a lot over the years, and have seen the quality take a nosedive. This last stay will be our last. The room was dingy - the toilet seat wasn’t even attached, there was rust (or grime?) around the drain. The staff was pleasant, although one person implied we were the ones to beak the toilet seat. Bummer.

  We had stopped here on our way to Colorado and were super satisfied. The check in was fairly quick and we felt safe with Covid restrictions being enforced at this location. Breakfast was a "grab and go" so we took it up to the room. Did not need to use the pool or the gym so we did not inquire about them at all. There was a lot of grass area for our pup. I wish other dog owners would pick up after their fur friends - not hotel's fault tho there was a lot of poop there...

  La Quinta Inn in North Platte, IA is totally built for dogs (and pets), and we loved it! Love the dog park, endless grassy lawns with all of the necessary amenities for owners to look after their furry friends. The room was clean and very comfortable and the staff so friendly - and appropriately dog mad. Highly recommend stopping here if you are passing by.

  The person at the check in counter was great and gave us all the information we needed. We had to fill out a form with the dog's information; breed and weight. The room was clean. and did not smell like past pets. They have a doggy play area for the dogs to get some exercise and do their business. Would definitely stay again with my two dogs.

  This hotel was very conveniently located during our cross country move. The dogs were greeted with treats. There’s a nice fenced in dog park on the property. You cannot leave your dog unattended (which is clearly in the rules you sign). The people next to us had barking dogs that were clearly unattended anyway and security did follow up. They had free breakfast and an indoor pool as well. Would highly recommend.

  Doggy treats in front desk. A yard for no dogs and a fenced yard just for dogs. It was a very nice and very clean hotel. Definitely will go back.

  Wow!

  After a couple of mediocre stays on my journey westward, I thought this was a very worthwhile splurge. It is so clean! So comfortable! So much grassy lawn space! Great option. I would happily stay here again.

  Great dog play area!

  My husband and I and our dog and cat stayed here one night on our way home. Arrived late after a long day, but I was pleased that the pets settled right in when we got to our first floor room. Dog area is a grassy, fenced in area like a mini dog park...so awesome! Lots of recent updates at this location. Great hardwood type flooring in part of our room. Terrific breakfast buffet. I would definitely stay here again!

  Excellent Stay

  Clean, quiet, nice pool/hot tub for the kids, very dog friendly and a better breakfast than most other places we've stayed.
  (the eggs were fresh cooked, they had a gluten free section for my daughter)
