        We had a reservation for Sunday - Tuesday. My husband came down with the flu so we had to cancel. We were charged the full amount and refused to allow credit or reschedule. The this hotel is convenient to the places we want to visit we will not be staying there. Fair warn9, don't get sick and cancel your reservation at Red Riiof Inn!

        Dirty and Smelly

        The room smelled. The toilet was dirty with recent guest residue. The sink faucet was dirty and the counter around it had coffee stains. The gentleman at the desk was rude and unhelpful when asked to have the bathroom cleaned or provide another room.

        Not terrible

        We decided to stay at the Red Roof Inn because they were the only hotel in the area that permitted two dogs at a time. Red Roof has the reputation of being a no frills hotel and what you receive is basic accommodations. The building is in decent shape and the room was very clean. With the exception of our room door handle. We were never sure if we could get the door open or not; made bring two dogs in and out of the room a bit more stressful than it needed to be.

        If you are interested in their continental breakfast be sure to get there early, as the amount of food proved is very limited. My guess is, plan on having breakfast right at 7AM; by 7:30 all that is left is remnants.

        The designated pet area is simply a mostly bare path, along the back of a concrete wall. If there were any other pets staying at the same time as us, they seemed to be cleaning up after themselves so the area worked as intended.

        The other guests staying at the hotel can have a major impact on how much you enjoy your stay. In our case, a few guests felt that our room door was the prefered spot to have loud conversations, or correct their crying children, presumably so as not to disturb the rest of their group. As you can imagine, our dogs took exception to this; especially when it occurred late at night. Someone thought that the best way to dispose of excess french fires was to scatter them in front of the pet area; a surprise to us taking the dogs out first thing in the morning. We found it particularly awkward when someone broke a glass container next to our car which also lined up with the sidewalk from the building heading toward the designated pet area. Lucky no dog paws where injured.

        My wife, our toy daschund and I were in town for the weekend. Arrived as scheduled and received a kind greeting. The room was clean and habitable when we arrived. Jay at desk was very courteous. The next day we saw the room attendants cleaning and restoring linens etc in "other" rooms but did not come into ours after we left the room. We asked for new/clean towels etc but had to go to the front desk at 1030 pm to get them.
        The breakfast was average but the room temperature had to exceed 90 degrees.
        Overall (2) two bones may be exceptional..

        my visit

        I was there with two very special family members and my four legged almost 4 months old 4 pounds yorki / bishon (hybrid). Everything was fine! The room was was what we were expecting.
        The morning front desk guy did not even say hi...or good morning....the night time front desk person was friendly.

        My husband and I spent only 1 night there with our 4pounds maltese. As you can see when you are making a reservation online, the price is totally different. The outside corridors and parking lot could be cleaner. The drain in the bath tub wasn't working and the soap holds were missing. Breakfast was very good! Just a suggestion: It would be nice if they had a petsitter contact list. We are not allowed to leave the dog unattended in the room but we can't bring them to restaurants.Think about that!

        Nice to see a hotel accommodate pets. Room could have been cleaner...bathroom floor and carpeted area looked as if they had not been cleaned from last guests. Cobwebs on the inside window. Dog run outside was great!

        I stayed two nights at the Red Roof Inn with my 2year old 83lb rottweiler mix and had no problems. The only thing that surprised me was the request for a $50.00 deposit which was for any damages to the room. The hotel said they would credit my account if there was no damages upon check out. I have not received my credit card statement at this time but there shouldn't be any problem since Butler was a good boy during his brief stay. I would recommend this hotel to other pet owners.

        Not impressed!

        We had numerous issues. The air conditioner/heater was broken & for about a 1/2 hour kept alarming. I finally pressed & held a button & got it to stop but then the heat could not be increased or decreased, so we roasted for part of the night. The sink was clogged & the floors were VERY dirty. We couldn't let our puppy be on the ground due to all the dirt & crap underneath of both beds. It looks like they NEVER vacuum.

        It was fine

        Our visit to the Redroof Inn in Lancaster was disappointing. First we couldn't check in until after 2pm because of house cleaning. Then we couldn't get a room closer to the pet area because rooms were not available on that floor yet, even though out reservation was for a room near the pet area.

        The room (229) was clean but the fridge ice area was frozen so I wasn't sure it was working at all, the light blew out and I couldn't get them to come change it and the toilet pipes moaned after each flush.

        If we had to stay longer than 1 night I would have requested another room but, at the time, there were none available.

        The continental breakfast was exceptional, it also had hot items like waffles and biscults w/gravy. Very good. Many coffee choices.

        everything was fine

        We stayed a few nights with our 5 lb dog. The room was fine. The dog are was good for our small dog. The only thing we found sort of odd was the clerk told us that all guest with pets must stay on the second floor. For us it was not an issue because we carried our dog but when you walk your dogs it would have been easier to just open the door and walk across then to either walk down a stairwell or elevator. The room rate was reasonable and would stay again. It was convienent to have a few places to eat within a short walk across the parking lot.

        Pet Policy Is Not What It Seems For Vacationers

        Their policy that you can not leave your pet in the room unattended was an inconvenience. We had to purchase a kennel in order to leave our small dog in the room when we needed to leave. If you are vacationing, you cannot take your dog along with you everywhere you go. All in all, it worked out fine, but the $75.00 cost of the kennel was an unexpected expense. The motel itself was very nice and clean.

        Clean,good price & easy with pet

        The main reason I chose the hotel is that they allowed pets.
        There was no charge for 1 pet.You can walk pet behind hotel by some farmland with a nice view.The hotel rooms were very clean. The maintanance staff were great.
        I did not care much for the Front desk staff.
        They didn’t seem very caring or accommodating and had no knowledge of area as well.

        Pleasantly surprised

        We were a little concerned that a hotel catering to dog owners might be..... on the decline. Not so at all. Nice room and it was quite clean. We were on the ground floor near the rather spacious dog walk area. Rules are reasonable and the people around us were dog friendly. We would certainly stay at this hotel again and needless to say, our Dixie was grateful to be along for the vacation. Thank you for this dog-lover friendly web site.

        Red Roof Inn Lancaster PA

        The Red Roof Inn in Lancaster PA is a good place for pet owners who are stopping overnight or staying a few days in Amish country. They are indeed pet friendly. We were in a row of rooms that included two Bichon Frisees and a Corgi. There is a pet policy that must be signed, but the rules are common sense (for most people). There is a field in back of the building for walking the dog (on leash). And there is no additional charge for your pet. I believe there is a one-dog-per-room limit. But we enjoyed the stay and were happy to have Ginger with us. BringFido was a great resource to have in planning this trip!

        Fire Alarm

        Hotel was ok, clean ,pet policy was good. The one draw back was the fire alarm. Two days in a row it went off for no reason or at least no one said why. The first time was at 6:15am and lasted 5 minutes the second day it went off at about the same time and stayed on for 45 minutes. Again, no reason given and again lost sleep,
