We stayed at this location last night and actually paid more than other hotels we stay at when riding I-95. The bed was comfortable but bathroom was missing Kleenex and when I asked for some - well let’s say they never found any. The toilet paper was one-ply. Staff were nice (just not able to find missing supplies for the room).

We only stayed for one night traveling through, but had a cat & a dog with us. The room was clean & comfy. We ate at the restaurant cuz we were exhausted, and it was a mediocre experience. We opted to not do breakfast, especially since it wasn’t included, which was surprising based on the price of the room. I stayed at less expensive hotels that included a continental breakfast. The front desk staff was pleasant & friendly and they had a large, grassy area for the dog on leash. The walls are kind of thin & our dog woke us up several times barking back at dogs in other rooms, but that’s the fun of traveling with pets.

This Holiday Inn was a great stop for us. The staff was very friendly. Pet-friendly rooms are on the 4th floor, but the room was very clean, and had no sign of previous pets. This is going to become one of my regular stops when traveling north.

Traveling with three 30-pound dogs can be tough. This hotel welcomed the whole crew. The room was spacious and clean, beds comfortable, and we even had our choice of pillows. There is plenty of room to walk dogs without having too many others close by (helpful for my one barker). The room was well-insulated for sound, too, so we didn’t hear much of other people and their dogs. This will be our go-to stop on the snowbird drive from now on!

Excellent location off of 95 (under 1 mile). We gave 4/5 bones as there was not a designated dog walking area although did have grassy areas. Everyone was friendly & room was very clean.

I have stayed here several times before, but time has taken its toll on the “dog floor.” The dog friendly floor is the top floor (4th) of the hotel. When I stepped off the elevator I knew I was in the right place by the huge puddle of pee to welcome me. They need to deep clean the carpets, or replace them, as dogs have clearly marked the entire floor. My room smelled awful and was very damp and musky. The floor also had a mixture of smoking and non-smoking rooms, so you could add that to the smell factor as well. Staff were very nice and made me feel welcome, but I couldn’t help but feel like I needed a shower after leaving. Definitely not worth the price. Will not be returning.

Be careful when reserving your room. We ended up getting a smoking room which was very unpleasant. the hotel was too full when we arrived to change to a non smoking room. Otherwise this is a classic holiday inn with a good restaurant onsite that provides room service. we had a great burger!

Check in was easy. Room was clean and quiet. The room furniture is in need of updating (desk chair with tape on arms is one example). All in all it worked out well for me and my dog.

Holiday Inn Santee is absolutely outstanding. Our room on the 4th (pet floor) was clean and comfortable. Bed was really comfy. Nice grassy area behind the hotel for dogs. Kem’s Cafe (the restaurant and bar in the lobby) offered a nice variety for dinner. My wife enjoyed the fried chicken and my pork chops were great too. The staff is exceptionally friendly and helpful at the front desk, the restaurant and the bar. We have been longtime Hilton Honors people but stayed at this Holiday Inn because it is pet friendly. We were so impressed with our experience that we will now look for Holiday Inns when we travel, dog or no dog. Congrats to the Santee Holiday Inn - a great find!

We were not happy with our stay at this Holiday Inn. First of all I’m not sure who in their infinite wisdom would make the ridiculous decision to put all the dog friendly rooms on the fourth floor. This decision makes it not only inconvenient for all the travelers with pets but also for anyone who may not appreciate these pets but now gas to ride up and down the elevator with them. Aside from this inconvenience our room which was supposed to be a non-smoking room reeked if cigarette smoke. In the interest of fairness, other than smelling like smoke the room was nice and appeared very clean. The staff was also very friendly and professional. We will not choose this place again.

We will definitely stay there again. While the price is more than surrounding hotels, it is worth it. The rooms are clean and comfortable. There is also a restaurant on site, which is open until 9:00 PM. You can order room service or do take out, as dogs are not permitted in that area. There is also a CVS near by in case you forget something that you really need. There is no free breakfast (although coffee is free) due to the presence of the restaurant.

Could be better. The shower water pressure is terrible. No free breakfast which just about every other hotel offers and the free coffee is not good. They do have a pretty decent restaurant that offers good take out to your room so you don’t have to leave the pet. Our stay with our Irish Terrier was fine.

We were very impressed on the cleanliness of the room and the total hotel. Everyone that we encountered that worked at the hotel was very pleasant and caring. We really loved this place and wish more hotels with pets allowed was this good.

The staff was really wonderful, the place was clean. Our room was nice, it smelled clean except the floor wasn't vacuumed very well and the bathroom floor had a little bit of dog food on it, however I feel if I asked for it to be cleaned they would have. Overall it was a really nice place and we would stay there again.

We stopped at the rest stop and got a travel coupon book. There is a coupon in the book for this hotel for $89.00 a might. We used the coupon and there was a $20.00 pet fee. With tax it came to $115.00 a night. They have a reasonable priced restaurant, however there is no breakfast included with the room.
I gave it 5 stars because the room was very clean with. I odor. There was no sign of previous dogs having been in the room. (We have had problems with odors in some other dog friendly hotels we have stayed.
There is a large well kept grassy area with a dispenser with doggy bags. There is round the clock coffee available. The bed was super comfortable. And it is quiet. May be a little pricier but we thought it was worth it.
