  Perfect for 2 big dogs

  We spent 2 nights. The room was very spacious for 2 people with two dogs (Bernese Mtn. Dog and Gordon Setter). Decent breakfast. Close to boardwalk. Very good price (of course, it is off season).

  Last minute overnight in VA Beach. Recently renovated & block from beach walk. Quiet in November. There is a fee to park however.

  La Quinta in Virginia Beach is one of the older LQs. A little worn, but still ok. Wouldn’t want to say there long term, but ok, if you need a place to stay while traveling through.

  Overall, this was a good place to stay. The most important things for me were the ability to bring my dog, a clean bed and a clean working shower. This place was 3 for 3, hence the 4 bones. Breakfast was okay, nothing fancy, but very convenient and saved a buck. The staff was very pleasant. I do have a few complaints. First, the windows in the rooms do not open so everything takes forever to dry and there's no fresh air circulating. Second, the floor in the room was very dirty. I don't think it's been mopped in a while. Third, the water in the sink and the tub was barely draining -- definitely need some cleaning out. Other than that, the rooms are simple but very nice. There are a microwave and a fridge, a TV. Location is great, juts a block from the beach, and there are a few really nice places to eat around. I was very grateful to be able to bring my furry friend with me. Would come back.

  Good for dogs

  So this is a dog-friendly place. It's very close to the boardwalk in VA beach where there are several dog friendly eateries. It’s not a fancy place more bare bones. lol. You have to pay for parking and it’s dated. But definitely dog friendly.

  Nice breakfast

  This hotel was very dirty, and smelled like animal urine. On two separate occasions, urine was left on the floor with a caution sign for HOURS! They didn’t even mop the mess up. Our bathroom was just wiped clean, nothing was dusted, there were stains on the walls, and the beds were uncomfortable. The best thing about this place was the breakfast.

  Super dog friendly

  This is our second time staying at La Quinta by Wyndham VA Beach. The hotel is a perfect location to the beach and there are multiple restaurants within walking distance. Also, next door is a full size grocery store. There is plenty of areas to walk your dog around the hotel property and beyond. The only unadvertised downfall is parking is $15/night.

  Great stay

  Older hotel that was clean, no room service due to a staff shortage but we were provided ample enough amenities for our 2 night stay. This place also allowed us the ability to bring our dog to his first beach vacation. There is a lot of grassy area to walk the dogs near the side walk which is awesome. Would totally stay there again.

  Very accommodating with a dog except that sign said the dog was not supposed to be in the lobby at all; would need to take the dog in a back entrance. I understand that there are no dogs while serving breakfast but dogs should be allowed in the lobby for check-in and such. Price was right.

  A great location has improved

  This location is out of the way on our trip to and from Florida, but is worth the effort. It has always been well maintained and comfortable. They are now improving it, with a new reception area and a new fitness center.

  Great service

  To start, the lobby smells wonderful. The room was very spacious, and the king bed was comfortable. We loved having a microwave and fridge in the room. Breakfast is offered every day. You can missed this meal. They have scrambled eggs, bacon, country potatoes, biscuits and gravy, waffles, cereal, bagels and fresh fruit. They serve Community Coffee, tea, and juices. Everyone who works there is friendly. Totally recommend this hotel.

  Clean, welcome all dogs, even my 120 lb Labrador. No stress over traveling with my dog. This hotel would get a 10 if I could give it one. BringFido was extremely helpful. They get a 10 too.

  A great place

  We originally chose the La Quinta Inn because we were bringing our dog. But unforeseen circumstances made us travel without him. You would never know they allow pets. The room was clean and very comfortable and although we stayed on a floor with dogs, you could not hear them in your room. The beach and restaurants were a short walk away. I would definitely stay here again!

  Only drawback is that it feels like EVERYONE brings their dogs there. Also the exercise room was closed for renovations while we were there.

  Great location and clean

  The location was great and the place was clean. Only bad thing was that there was no fan in the room I stayed which was the 1st floor. It’s a block away from the beach and lots of food places nearby.

  Decent hotel

  The only issues we had were the air conditioning issues in the lobby, wiring/cables all over the floors with tape, a little dangerous for us and our Zak. And unfortunately the bathroom in the hotel was very small. The staff was friendly and the room was clean, love the no carpeted floors for dog friendly rooms.

  Dogs! Dogs! Dogs!

  The front desk was so friendly and helpful. The dog area was a good size grass area with setup waste station. We’re newly traveling with our furries (3 of them! 1 lg, 2 small) Our big guy is being nervous and the front desk gal was so helpful in getting us a room nearest to the doors with less walking to the outside. Our stay was top notch!

  Very Disappointed

  The room was VERY dirty. Manager apologized and offered me a different room, which wasn’t much cleaner. It was a holiday weekend, so I couldn’t find accommodations that took pets. Put a big damper on my getaway mini vacation. The staff at BringFido were great, and got my money refunded promptly!

  Wow, what a surprise! I've never stayed at La Quinta before. Very clean and modern. Two problems 1. Shower very slippery, 2. The water was awful to drink. Definitely would recommend this hotel.

  The La Quinta VA Beach was just a block from the expansive, dog-friendly beach and boardwalk. The Inn was newly renovated and very nice.

  Dog Friendly, Walkable, & Clean

  The reviews were right and I’m so grateful for this site! Our room was spotless and quiet. Our dog wore herself out at the beach, which is a short walk away, and then she slept like a log in the room. Okay, we all did. Beds and pillows were super comfy. Our room had a mini fridge and microwave. There’s plenty of free parking, free wi-fi, and a free breakfast in the lobby. There were dog biscuits in the lobby as well, and plenty of green space outside for potty breaks. I felt safe taking my dog out alone at night (in pj’s and slippers - didn’t see a soul). I’d definitely stay here again.

  Strange experience

  Since I travel with my dog I am VERY grateful for places that take pets but I really felt overwhelmed by the number of pets staying here at Thanksgiving. A large dog was running around the halls unattended and barking frantically to the point that another guest warned me and was very concerned that someone should do a welfare check in the room the dog kept jumping on. Finally someone confined the poor thing in a stairwell where it barked for hours. It was distressing. The staff was very efficient and professional aside from the above incidence.

  Comfortable stay

  We stayed in a king room on the 1st floor with our small dog. It looked like the room was recently remodeled. It was very nice for the price and location. Within walking distance of several restaurants with dog-friendly patio seating. This hotel will be my go-to when visiting VB.

  Not so dog friendly

  This hotel charged a pet fee overnight even after BringFido stated it was no charge. Upon arrival, they made me sign a pet waiver & give a credit card for any pet incidents. They told me pets are not allowed anywhere else in hotel. We could only use the back door to enter/exit. The hotel is located on a busy street where we could not safely cross. We had to walk blocks away to cross at a crosswalk. I would not stay here with my dog again. It was very unwelcoming for pet owners.

  Cat and big dog friendly

  Super thankful to find a hotel that allows not only our large dog, but our cat as well. The location is fantastic - surrounded by lots of local restaurants and shops and the beach is only a couple blocks away. Unfortunately this was not the cleanest or most comfortable La Quinta we’ve stayed at with our pets. The elevators are pretty run down and every day it seemed like the elevator floors were dirty and sticky. The room was fairly comfortable, but the floors were dirty and the AC was so loud that it was hard to hear the TV over it. The room definitely had kind of a “cheap motel” feel to it. However, the lobby appears renovated and was clean and the reception staff was pleasant.

  Convenient location, good service

  Stayed five nights with our German Shepard in a King-bed suite. Two block walk to beach, surrounded by take-out and dine-in restaurants and lots of pet relief areas. Lots of other dogs & dog-lovers in the hotel with us just prior to Memorial Day. Everyone got along well.

  This LaQuinta is bare bones minimal. The parking area was littered with trash and even mattresses dumped by their dumpster. We had two drunk guys drinking near their truck in the parking lot when we arrived back one night. The second floor is for pets and it wreaked of PineSol and bleach (perhaps to mask smells)There was a giant pile of dirty linens in the hallway all night until morning when we left. Some of the toiletries were missing in the bathroom. It just wasn’t a great stay.

  Nice hotel, rooms up to date and nice with vinyl plank wood style flooring. One block from the beach, good location. My wife got bit by another guests dog pretty good though. The hotel employees were friendly, but offered no discount for the incident which I think is total garbage, and they didnt really accept much responsibility for the incident. The stay was good, hotel good other than that. Stay away from the other La Quinta hotel that's about 10 minutes away in Norfolk....its a dump. I would recommend this hotel, but some kind of discount for the incident should be in order.

  Great Location! Dog Friendly

  This hotel was great! Nice and clean, and only one block from the 28th street beach front. Our dog loved the room as well. They have a little place for the doggies to pee and offered doggie bags. The pool looked small but We were unable to use it because of COVID-19 restrictions. We were also unable to enjoy the free breakfast. The elevator was kind of old, but it still worked. All the staff was nice and friendly and our puppy receive so much love we would have to be visiting this place again.

  Overall, this hotel provides good value for the money spent. Staff was friendly and actually enjoyed interacting with our pets. I would definitely stay here again, but go to McDonalds for coffee;-)

  Great hotel - except under renovation/construction

  The room was great, very dog friendly...except that they were in mid-renovation and the work started at 6 am and the work crews were talking and loud and almost as if they didn't know anyone was even in the room.

  One block from the beach and they made it pretty easy to handle the dogs....there is another entrance at the other end of the building, which was much closer to our room, that allowed us to enter and exit the building quickly with dogs that needed to go to the bathroom.

  When we first walked up to the front desk the staff member gave us a bag of milk bones and asked to pet our dog, the pet friendly rooms are not bad, vinyl plank floor and up to date appliances. My only thing is that i think they forgot to clean our shower before we arrived...

  Place was under construction, but the rooms were beautiful. Loved the hard flooring. Very dog friendly, and only a block from the beach. Few restaurants within walking distance that were also fur friendly. Highly recommend for the canine traveler
