  I recently lost one of my three best friends this past weekend and I can’t say enough about MedVet in Manassas in the space provided. My boy was taken back for “triage” and then immediately admitted for a rapid and erratic heartbeat which was probably causing his lethargic behavior. The staff took care of him as best they could but they called me back the next morning since either his heart would fail or I could let him rest and go across the Rainbow Bridge. The staff at MedVet were professional in their manner, they described all treatments, and they were caring and sensitive at the end as I laid next to my boy as he went to sleep. My thanks to the staff and should I ever need their services again, I will not hesitate to return there.
  I want to address the myriad of complaints I’ve been seeing in the reviews; basically, I’m getting sick of reading complaints and seeing “one star” reviews for bogus reasons. As mentioned at the beginning, I lost my boy. Once he was admitted, I was hit with a rather large bill estimate—I was given a laundry list of possible treatments during a possible two-day stay at the hospital—but I accepted it openly knowing I wanted my boy saved if possible. If you don’t want the big emergency bills for your pet, get pet insurance, or get CareCredit (pet bill credit card). If you don’t, you have no reason to complain about someone trying to save your pet—medical treatment for animals and people is expensive and staffing is limited, so get over it if you didn’t have insurance (like I did).
  I had to wait a few minutes to see the medical assistant even though we came in as an emergency: it’s first come, first served except in extenuating circumstances, so quit complaining they didn’t see your pet immediately. MedVet was one of our last hopes as all the other “emergency” hospitals were either full or paused as the staff changed shifts. Speaking to medical staff at Banfield, where my pets get healthcare, and also at the hospitals, there is a shortage of doctors, so some facilities will be backed up and unable to take new patients, or they may be changing shifts and will pause while the staff gets up to speed for their shift.
  Be prepared to travel to care for your pets! Have a list of alternate hospitals handy so you’re not driving and cause an accident because you’re playing with your phone browser and you kill yourself and your pet.
