DO NOT TAKE YOUR PET HERE

The management is horrendous. We tried to fix a dispute about our dogs and how they were treated and as we brought up our concerns, they were disregarded. Management was extremely passive aggressive on the phone. It seems there are more mangers than people actually working. My dogs were put into one of the rooms for 4 days. One is six months old and the other is 3 years old. My puppy obviously has different food than my adult dog. Both of their food types are labeled and include how much to give. Even with these precautions, my puppy was fed adult food ( the pieces are much bigger so it’s obvious). A six month old puppy consuming adult food inevitably makes them sick. So while my puppy had diarrhea all over in the night(for days), both my dogs had smeared it all over the room and eventually their toys had been coated. This is fine, if they would have corrected the food issue and cleaned. Not only did they feed the dogs the wrong food the next day, they walked in on the dirty room and fed them in it, only to clean it after. My adult dog was so distraught she refused to eat in the set conditions, when placing the food bowls down they put it in front of the wrong dogs. My older dog will not eat puppy food, so we don’t even know if she was eating while we were gone. On vacation not only did we have to watch everything on the cameras constantly, we almost debated leaving in the middle of it just to go back for the dogs. More time was spent calling the facility than enjoying our time off. The employees can’t fully be to blame, they are overworked and underpaid. The managers mistreat their employees as well. Overall not sure this place is safe or sanity for your pet.

DO NOT TAKE YOUR DOG HERE

Boarded my dog here for 2 nights and when we picked her up she had a fever, uncontrollable diarrhea and vomiting. Had to take her to 24 hour emergency vet and she contracted Giardia at Bayside....this place is NOT disinfecting properly and is filthy. If I could give a negative rating I would....BEWARE!!!!!!

    Bayside Hurts Dogs

Bayside Pet Resort put a large English Bull dog in with my smaller 13 pound dog. This large dog viciously attacked and severely injured my dog. According to Bayside, who reviewed the surveillance video, this attack went on for 10 seconds until a worker, who was standing there the entire time, pulled this large English Bull dog off of our dog. Bayside has refused to allow us to view the video; even though it was originally posted for public view. Our dog underwent major surgery and most likely walk with a limp the rest of his life.

    Dear Joanne,

Again, It appears that your review was meant for our Osprey location, not our Sarasota Location. As was already explained to you over the phone, in-person to your significant other, and on Yelp:

From our experience over the past 5 years, dogs do not react the same way in every environment and/or play group. As was explained by the general manager, Koda's overcorrections may be misinterpreted by other dogs as a threat, which can very easily lead to an altercation. Unfortunately, we had to make this difficult decision for the safety of Koda as well as our daycare staff. We offered multiple alternative programs, including one-on-one play times with staff, and shorter daycare sessions with enrichment in between which you declined.

While we appreciate your feedback on our pricing structure, let me assure you that we have done a lot of market research prior to carefully creating our rates. Our services are priced fairly and competitively, especially considering the amenities we offer like multiple live daycare webcams, an in-ground pool, and suites with private outdoor patios.

We're glad to hear that Koda does well at Camp Bow Wow so that he can continue to benefit from the exercise and socialization opportunities doggie daycare affords. We will revisit this encounter with our staff to ensure feedback is communicated to pet parents more clearly moving forward.

    PLACE FAVORITES

My dog attended Bayside Pet Resort 26 times over a period of months without any issue. About two weeks ago he got into what the caretaker there called a small scuffle. I asked her if I should be concerned, she said "absolutely not". I get a call today in the middle of my work day to tell me that my dog got into another scuffle, and is no longer welcome to go there. My dog has NEVER been aggressive to any living animal for as long as I have him. In fact we have gone away some weekends and left him in Camp Bow Wow, where he attended camp 3 days straight, and had no issues whatsoever. There is something wrong with the management in a place that arbitrarily throws a dog out of its program. Their rates are egregious, as they are the only game in town. I have no idea what really happened today because I wasn't there. But I know for a fact that if my dog got aggressive, he was defending himself. My guess is the issue was with one of their regulars that they give special treatment to. If you arrive at the same time or before one of their regulars, you wait until they are checked in and taken to camp. Wow. I thought the mean kids were all human. Apparently they live in dogs at Bayside Pet Resort. Go to Camp Bow Wow. It's more affordable, and they actually like all dogs there

    Excellent Service

Customer service at Bayside is above and beyond - all of the staff seems to really love what they do. The webcams are great if you worry about your fur baby while you're away. It is nice peace of mind.
