Strange about "Emily's" experience. I took my two Wirehaired Pointing Griffons to Preppie Pooch to have their nails trimmed....because I couldn't do it. They had them clipped in a matter of minutes with no problem! Preppie Pooch may still have a cute name...but they don't have Becky anymore -- and she was the heart and soul of the business. For anyone looking for her she's still working!!! Reach her for an appointment at 287-0387.

Not only was the service, care, excellent grooming done for me and Cassie. The sincere concern that Becky showed when Cassie died was greatly appreciated. Becky is the heart and soul of Preppie Pooch and when I get another dog Becky is the groomer I will be going to.

I brought my Cocker Spaniel to Preppie Pooch for a makeover while I ran errands. After returning, I was really amazed with the transformation. The facility is very clean and inviting . The employees are quite knowledgeable about the products and services they provide.

I will NEVER give them any more of my money! I was called to say my dog was ready, and when I got there they had not clipped his nails. They said he would not "let them" clip his nails. Keep in mind that I have taken him to SEVERAL places in the area and never had a problem with it getting done. Others have said he doesnt like getting his nails clipped, but always did it. They said they would clip them if I held him, and since I was determined to have a groomed dog I decided to go along with it. I was dressed for work and held him while they clipped his nails. I was then charged FULL PRICE and sent on my way. I sent an email through the 'contact us' button on their website and got no response. I called there a few days later and the owner answered, said that ... I was called to say my dog was ready, and when I got there they had not clipped his nails. Why not at least respond with a 'Im sorry you had a bad experience..."? ) I also told the owner that my dog was scooting a day after the bath (thought they did the glands with the bath?) and she never apologized for anything. DON'T GO THERE!!!!! THEY ARE TERRIBLE!!!!!!

My 23 pound Pookie has been spoiled (and so have I!) by the outstanding service received at Preppie Pooch. He's been pampered, petted, given treats and best of all, leaves the upscale day spa with his nose in the air because he KNOWS he's a handsome devil. Pookie had never been groomed properly until Rebecca opened the Preppie Pooch. She works wonders with him (don't tell him I said so, but he's sort of funny looking). She knows exactly how to groom every breed of dog. She is amazing and so hard working and best of all, Rebecca absolutely loves dogs She and her staff are the very best in all of Hampton Roads. If you take your pooch there, you will NEVER want to take your pooch anywhere else for grooming.

I have been looking for a groomer for my Cavapoo since I got him almost three years ago. I have been to about a million different places, and I've always felt like I was throwing money away - bad experiences left my dog traumatized, and we hardly ever got good cuts. Not anymore! I took Mick to Preppie Pooch this weekend and had a great experience with John and Rebecca. Mick was himself for the first time ever after being groomed, and his cut was outstanding. The overall atmosphere of Preppie Pooch is upscale, and the customer service is top-notch. Pricing is reasonable, too. My grandmother saw my dog hours after he was groomed and was so impressed that she made an appointment on the same day for her little girl. She loved the experience, too. I can't say enough about how great they are! You won't be disappointed.

My daughter has two Yorkies, and I have one. All three looked absolutely great when they came out of Preppie Pooch. You could see they were happy and treated with lots of love and patience. I highly recommend Preppie Pooch. We have other dog groomers closer to us, but will make the drive from now on.

This place gets my highest recommendation. The place is clean, you can tell the groomer loves dogs, & best of all my dog was extremely happy about her whirlpool bath (who by the way normally runs the other way at the mention of a bath). My dogs hated going to the groomer til now, I wouldn't trust anyone else. Besides, how many places can you take your dog where they get spoiled like they would at home, where they even love their groomer, & finding one that has more experience & love of dogs? This is the only place I've found.
