The Outer Banks S.P.C.A. (Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals) is a 501 (c) (3) tax-exempt corporation which staffs and manages the Dare County Animal Shelter. The Outer Banks S.P.C.A. provides a loving environment and temporary housing for lost, stray, or unwanted domestic animals in Dare County. They have wonderful pets who need new, forever homes and would love to have you visit with them to meet them.

  I was very disappointed with the building and staff. There was carp piled up in the lobby and when I asked to speak to director I was told he was busy. Worst animal shelter I have ever been in. Avoid this place like the plague.

  This is an outstanding, caring group of people working hard to serve and protect Dare County's animal population. They are the best!
