Dog Sports Unlimited works with local dog clubs to host and promote Fast CAT events and other lure coursing activities. They provide the people, equipment, and know how necessary to run a safe and successful lure coursing event, either at their New Smyrna Beach facility or at remote locations. These lure coursing events are open to the general public and can be used towards AKC titles or just for the enjoyment and good health of the dog.
Our facility is a dog sports complex where dogs of all shapes and sizes come to exercise and compete in sports specifically designed to stimulate their natural instincts. Whether it's finding rats in a barn full of hay or chasing fake bunnies down our track, there's something for all dogs.
Most Saturday nights we hold Fast CAT Camp from 7:30 - 10:00 PM. We run the lure machine on our 100 yard track and dogs get to practice their Fast CAT skills chasing the "bunnies".
Fast CAT is an AKC sport. Pure bred and mixed breed dogs compete for titles and ribbons. It's a timed 100 yard dash. Times are converted into MPH and points are awarded based on the dogs handicap (size). It's a great activity for dogs and many people aren't chasing titles, they're simply participating for the dog's health and enjoyment. Check their website for dates; no reservation required. Spend a Saturday night doing something special with your best friend. You'll meet lots of great people and a whole bunch of happy dogs.
