Not Dog Friendly In the Winter

We were in Big Bear for the weekend of New Year's, and for the first time in forever, there was no snow. We looked for dog friendly patios for our 2 dogs and were excited to try Jasper's. The menu looks amazing, and they have a sign on the door that says they are dog friendly. After waiting 5-10 minutes, we asked the hostess for a table outside and she told us the patio wasn't open in the winter. I'm sure the restaurant is delicious, but it was disappointing to be turned away.

    Huge patio Huge portions!

All meals were tasty. Hot links, pulled pork sandwich, chefs salad (lots of meat), and cheeseburger. Ice tea and soft drinks come in massive mason jars. They brought big bowls of water for the dogs.

    Pet friendly for the patio

Their chalkboard is confusing, we couldn't tell if they were allowed in the restaurant or not... they are pet friendly on the patio (not inside which I understand). We went in April and I wouldn't suggest dinner without a coat as it gets cold at night. The food was really good, except the pulled pork was a bit dry (I grew up in SC so I may be a bit pickier than some). They brought my German Shepherd water which was nice. They don't have a dog menu or I didn't see it. I would probably go back in the summer, but I would probably check out other dog friendly restaurants around there first since the prices are a bit high.. which is normal for such a tourist area I'm sure.
