  Great for dog parents

  This place has always been a solid go to whenever we visit. first time we brought our dog though and it was just fine. The staff were very accommodating and we were seated outside very quickly. the wait staff loved our pup and gave her lots of affection which was appreciated. food was great as always especially the clam chowder.

  Great food, great service and puppy friendly. Will visit this place anytime we are in Carlsbad.

  Friendly Service

  Had a great-tasting breakfast. Traveling with small 12lb disabled dog. They were very accommodating. Offered water immediately. Totally recommend. :)

  FURBABY LOVERS beware!

  My husband, our beautiful 5.5 pound Yorkshire Terrier and I sat at their outdoor patio (12/05/18) and the RUDEST waitress ever approached us and told us that the DOG had to sit on the floor. We had her in her carrier (purse) on my lap. She was not touching the table and not making any noise. Waitress never asked if my puppy was a service dog or an emotional support dog and she was very, very rude. I had all her paperwork in order but I would NEVER stay in a place with that kind of service and worse spend my money on them. We would NEVER go back again...these New Yorkers are definitely not impressed with their service... this waitress needs a bit more customer service training. I wish I could give a zero bone because they don't even deserve the one bone.

  Absolutely fine.

  We stayed in Carlsbad and came here because it had a five bone rating. With all due respect, it does not deserve the highest rating. As far as dog friendly, most of the restaurant is covered outdoor seating which they could make dog friendly. However, they do not. The dog tables are a few on the sidewalk on the way to the front door, mostly in the sun, If they really wanted to accommodate dogs, they could do better. Other local places do. The food is fine, nothing exceptional, but nothing messed up. We had breakfast and it was standard diner fare. The people who work there are very nice and overall, the food and service were fine.

  Good Breakfast Place for Puppies

  My husband and I eat regularly at Daily News, and only recently starting bringing our ~40lbs dog. Although the puppy seating is limited (to the area near the sidewalk) and you cannot get alcoholic drinks our there - the staff is super friendly and there are lots of things for your dog to look at and other puppies to meet. Overall - we highly recommend the Daily News for your puppy breakfast needs!
