    No Dogs Allowed Inside

3/13/24 Walked in with my dog and was turned away on the spot. The bartender, one of only two people in the place, told us that the health inspector was there, and until they get their health rating back up, they can't allow dogs inside. Would have been nice if they somehow published that information. I drove all the way from Edmonds to have dinner with my dog.

I wish we lived in Seattle!

Norm’s is my favorite place now! Although we live a couple of hours away, we get to Seattle quite often. Norm’s is terrific! The atmosphere is so welcoming and the food was REALLY GOOD! Although Fremont can be a bit hard to maneuver when driving, park in the lot next to the building. Norms will get you free parking for a couple of hours.

    5 BONES!!

This place is incredible!! It was the perfect spot to end our vacation. Dogs are allowed INSIDE. While the pup menu isn’t printed on the regular menu anymore (I hear they’ve had an ownership change) all the pup selections are still available. We also had a water bowl brought to our table for our two pups. Staff was incredible to us and our fur babies! Food and service were wonderful as well!! We will definitely be back anytime we are within an hour of this place! Norm’s is the best…paws down!

Awesome place for you and your dog!

Service was great, food was great, couldn’t ask for more. This is your typical pub fare menu but it all seems to be made fresh and in house. The staff was AWESOME to all the dogs in here. They have a whole menu just for dogs. You can sit inside or out. Thanks Norm’s!

    Dogs allowed indoors!

Recently under new ownership, it's now called Norm's Kitchen & Bar and most of the dog-related decor has been taken down. But dogs are still allowed indoors. The waitress brought us a dog water bowl and we ordered a chicken bow wow bowl for the dogs to enjoy. The food was good, the atmosphere was relaxed, and there were several dogs inside. We had a great experience and would definitely return here again!

    Dogs welcome INSIDE

I have loved going to Norm's the minute we heard dogs were allowed inside. It's the only restaurant I have been at that not only welcomes dogs inside (and have specific doggy menu) but customers will freely walk up to you to talk about your dog (or theirs). It's a great social spot for everyone.

BringFido website needs to update their description. Saying dogs are only allowed on the patio is a great disservice to the restaurant, especially on a rainy day. I'm searching for places that allow dogs inside, and BringFido posts pictures of dogs inside but then only describes outside seating. 1 bone for BringFido, 5 for Norm's.

    Best spot for doggies

This is one of a handful of places you can bring your dogs inside. They have a dog menu & human menu, and both are delicious. Staff are friendly & care for both humans and animals. I’m grateful this place exists and look forward to returning soon.

    Gone WAY downhill recently.

Went in October 2021. off leash area is gone. music is highly questionable. it really feels like a dive bar at this point with the new ownership.

Food is normal price for Seattle (highish) but food quality is below average. that’s always been true but environment used to be good enough to make it worth it to bring your dog.

Not anymore. I’ve been going there for 10+ years but I’m going to take a good long break.

Great For Pups, ok For People

This place was great for a sit down restaurant with the dogs! We were able to eat inside with the dogs and they got dinner off the dog menu, which they loved!

For us as pet parents however, it wasn’t great. Service was pretty bad and the food was ok, bar food. Overall though, it was a fun experience and we’d go back!

    Very Dog Friendly

I don’t know how it gets less than 5 dog bones. This is the only restaurant I’ve found that allows all dogs owners to sit anywhere, outside, inside tables and bar. They bring your pup water and ask if they can give a treat. This is the epitome of dog friendly.
    Decent bar food. Good service.

    OM-DO-G!!!

When I first sat down, I grabbed the table tent, much to my surprise, it was the doggie menu!!! What a statement! This made me feel comfortable as well as my furbaby! Great burger... and my dog LOVED THE BOW WOW BEEF BOWL!!!

    Dogs Inside

How they can allow dogs inside, I don’t know but am delighted they do. Beer list is acceptable. Food is decent for bar food. No complaints about the service. There are rules for dog behavior, and all dogs were well behaved. Good place to go with the dog when it’s too cold to sit outside.

    Decent

Food was decent, not incredible. Service was also just ok. The reason I gave four bones instead of three is they have a dedicated spot inside for dogs with a double gate. Nice option when it's colder out.

great spot not so great service

My friends and I were all very excited about this place and happy to bring our dog. The food was excellent and the relaxed atmosphere was nice as well. However our server had our checks really messed up when we went to pay it was no big deal and we worked with her to try and sort everything out and get the right items on the right checks however after doing this 4 times she came back with all our checks correct but with 4 extra drinks added we explained to her all the drinks each person had and were very polite she proceeded to ask if we knew how to count and was very rude. Eventually the manager intervened and we were able to get the correct checks. It is a shame she was so rude I am hesitant to go back even though we liked everything else about the place.

    Great Experience

I have read about Norm's but decided to finally check it out. It is very dog friendly and the food is terrific. My friend and had burgers and beer. Great beer and cocktail selection. We looked at the weekend brunch menu and saw many things we wanted to try. We will be back. Not only is the drink menu great, the food is great, and I can take my dogs - works for me!

    Always a great experience

Have been a few times now and have always had a pleasant and very receptive experience. Good food, good service and well behaved people...I mean dogs. Everyone got along. We will return since Norm's is ahead of the curve on including our entire family. Thank you Norms!!!

    Great birthday spot!

My human parents have been bringing me and my little sisters to Norm's for our birthdays for years. We get to sit under the table and eat the meat off really meaty chicken wings! We also get to make the rounds and meet the other "service dogs" who've happened by. Sometimes we even get to go to Norm's for my human brother's birthday, and even our cat-lovely friends come along (without their felines, of course -- who ever heard of a service cat?!) We live near another pub that allows Best Friends, but it doesn't allow human children as well, so Norm's is a truly special place where our whole family is welcome, and well worth the trip to Fremont.

Not as dog friendly as you'd think

I went here last weekend for the first time because I love being able to take my dog places with me. Whenever I would type in dog friendly this place would jump out, so I thought it would a fantastic outing.

The place is gaudy with dog pictures and signs, and there were quite a few dogs inside the restaurant. Everything screams dog friendly, but then you sit down and realize that not only do they not offer dog food, but you have to take your dog outside to get a drink of water, which was pretty tough on him with as hot as this weekend was.

Other than that, the human food was just standard and seemed a little overpriced. It's a handy place if you're already in the area with your dog, but it's not worth going out of your way for.

If you really want a dog friendly experience I would suggest Belltown Pub instead. They have monthly "yappie hours" and offer a dog menu and water bowls as soon as you sit down, and the decor is much less kitch-y.

Pup husky number 1 drinking bowl

I was skeptical about taking my pup in a bar. It' was just too good to be true and never expected here in the States. Back home in the UK it's common for people to be sat in a bar with their dog sleeping at feet licking up the slops.

I've been 3 times so far in 6 weeks and heard probably 5 barks, Obviously the dogs get excited sometimes, but all owners I've noticed have kept them quiet or take them outside for a wiz. Beer it great, Seating is cosy and the pub food is a winner and really cheap. I only wish I lived a little close so we could walk there and stumble home.. Norm branch out and open a bothell pub please. :)

I love going there with my dog.

I enjoy going Norm's Cafe with my dog. It is a great place for dog lovers. I enjoy going there. However, i would enjoy more if the food is bit better. Nothing bad food, but It is not special food either. But still I give 5 stars, because is is such a good place to go with my dog!

    Awesome place

We go here weekly!.. for our dog... someone said.. there is a dog fight and shrimp wrapped with bacon is weird food? wow.. this guy hasn't been in any asian dish places and lives in seattle. <shakes head>. Food is great and isn't expensive. if five guys burger or kid valley charge almost 10 dollars for fries and a burger... u think at Norms? for 10 dollars buger is expensive?.. go to happy hr, all appetizer is 5 dollars! and wed, PBR 40oz for 3 bucks! can't beat that!, if dogs are fighting u just sat by really lousy stupid dog owners that trapped their dogs 12 hrs in little condo/townhouse...

    Great food. Ok service

The food came out in a timely manner. Great presentation and delicious food. Norms had as really good atmosphere with comfortable seating. Being able to bring my dog into a resturaunt is a really great bonus.

Here's the bad. My keys fell out of my pocket when I went to pay the bill. I didn't realize till I got back to my truck in Tacoma since we carpooled. I tried calling and the lady on
the phone was swearing at me and telling me that she didn't have time to help mex swore some more then hung up on me. She did the same thing when
my friend tried calling. We were very nice to her till we got this treatment. I didn't know that this is how you treat paying customers who leave generous tips. All I wanted was to know if my keys were there. Thanks for the help b****.

Good Food, Great Beer, Fantastic Dog Friendly Place!

Norms is a great place to eat with your best friend. Even if your best friend isn't with you, I highly recommend it. I LOVE their chili and beer. Happy hour here rocks with $3 pints :-) Odly enough, the dogs seem to know they must be on their best behavior upon entering. What a great place!

    No Place Like Norm's

The food is good not gourmet but good, the prices are reasonable, and you can bring your dog with you inside. Other places insist you sit outside (IN the WINTER?) with your pet, so they aren't all that pet friendly. We have been there a number of times and the dogs (contrary to "jimmy in Seattle") have always been much quieter than the owners; never a dog fight in sight. Norm's is always busy and noisy at peak meal times but it is from PEOPLE TALKING, like most pub environments. I think jimmy had a "bone" to pick with someone the day he went to Norm's. Too bad he took it out on Norm's instead of the real someone who "barked" at him:>

    Best Bar Ever!

First visit was a few weeks after they first opened, the waitress was friendly with excellent service. The service has been fantastic ever since. The food is basic but tasty, and not over priced. The efficient and friendly staff make for good atmosphere, but add the dogs in and it makes for the best bar I have ever been in. Freemont is a wild busy and varied place, but even a crowd that may be down right unpleasant, is no problem with pooches around. Oh and at 50+ y.o. I have been to a well rounded variety of bars, and yes I stand by my assessment, Best Bar Ever!

Great spot to dine with your dog

Good comfort food and nice to have a full bar available too. Gave it 4 because the service on my first and only visit was rather rude...maybe she was cranky due to having to listen to the World Cup vuvuzelas all day long (I would be) but that was the only downside of visiting this fun, unabashedly dog friendly spot. Will definitely return - and hope for better service!

Great Place if you love dogs, beer, and pub grub

We take our dog here fairly regularly. It's like hanging out in an above average dive bar with reasonably good to very good food.

Not sure where Jimmy went, but it doesn't sound like the Norms we go to eat. Ask the waitress what to order, they are usually good at steering you away from the not up to snuff selections depending on who is cooking. The doggy bowl is the daily special, sometime it rocks, sometimes it is better fed to the dog. Ask!

Yes, some dogs can get out of line, but the staff is pretty good, as are most owners, at keeping their pets under control. I've only seen one person told to leave since they wouldn't control their pet.

Good beer selection, reasonable pour on drinks too. The drinks are better for regulars. What's not to like about a 40 oz Pabst served in a brown paper bag?

    We LOVE Norm's!

My husband and I visit Norm's regularly - and love the fact that this fun and lively pub is pet-friendly. It's surprising how well the dogs behave, with most laying under the tables or very closely to their owners. It's a great place to hang out with other dog lovers, the food is fantastic, the servers accommodating....thank goodness for this dog-friendly oasis!

    why bother

it sounds like a good concept, but trust me it is not! The food is horrible. they have some really weird dish that involves bacon wrapped shrimp and bar cherries wrapped in bacon. wtf? also there is always the daily dog fight. so if you enjoy strange expensive food and loud barking dogs fighting all the time come on down you'll love it.

    Bring your Dog

In case the description isn't clear - you can bring your dog INTO Norm's. It's an awesome restaurant/bar with great food and all the leashed dogs are comfortable with each other. Very cool place. Friday's are extremely busy, though, and all the dogs sometimes get a little difficult to navigate around. Tip your waiters well - they have to deliver food around your pets!
