    Great waitress and delicious food

We’ve been here before and enjoyed our meal and wait staff. It was just as good today. Jessica is an awesome waitress and very attentive. She brought water for our dog Willow and made sure we were all comfortable where we sat. The food was delicious as it always is. Will definitely return again during this trip to Galveston and future trips. I highly recommend Joe’s Crab Shack!!

    Absolutely rude and terrible staff.

    Terrible time. Deserves 0 stars.
My family and I waited the two hours to eat here. We waited so long specifically for the patio because we had two dogs. We saw that Joe's was dog friendly and made them aware that we had two dogs upon receiving our place in line.

We finally come into the patio area. Our waiter who was super nice, kept bending down to pet our two dogs which would excite them and obviously make them bark. Both of our dogs are none violent but easily excitable. Our waiter said he loves dogs and even joked about how dramatic they are with us. In between our waiter visiting us our dogs would calm down and lay under the table. They were both tired from spending the whole day at the beach.

Now this issue. This bus boy was eyeing us down. Full on staring and started loudly talking about us. He said things along the lines of "Shouldn't have brought your dogs here, should be a 20% tax, you're going to have dog hair in your food." And all while making eye contact with us being extremely creepy. He was a bald man wearing a gray "Bite Me" shirt. He wasn't even working just full on staring at us and hiding out by the playground.

Our poor waiter gave us our drinks, we apologized and assured him it's not because of him but we won't eat here being treated this way. Queue gathering up the disappointed children from the playground where creep guys was standing and head out.

I went inside and talked to another man who was also on the patio with us. I think he was confused because he told me he loves animals and I told him my issue wasn't with him but with the bus boy wearing the gray bite me shirt that was literally just standing in the corner staring us down talking about us.

Another waitress walks up who wasn't even on the patio and was saying she was about to ask us to leave because the bus boy said our dogs were snapping and wouldn't stop barking. one I wouldn't bring my dog in somewhere that would endanger him or anyone else. He was leashed, we requested outside and waited specifically for outside for this reason, and we left ourselves after the weird stare down of this man not doing his job and instead giving his unwanted input. I cannot stress how creepy this man is. The waitress who was working inside and wanted to throw in her two cents said he shouldn't even be talking to us.

I tried calling for a manager multiple times but they aren't answering the phone. I am not normally one to complain much but I find this issue coupled with the wait to be absolutely ridiculous.

I feel as though the bus boy ran back to complain about us. My husband also saw him run inside with another waitress talking . This other waitress was older and also being loud and rude. I feel bad for the competent friendly staff trying to work here being surrounded by other people like this.

We won't be back here. Again, our waiter and the other man working the patio were very nice but these other three were not worth staying for. I cannot believe how creepily this man stared our family down and even comment that we should have to spend more money here because we have dogs on their already overpriced food that we waiting two hours for.

Wasted time and energy here. Some of these employees have absolutely disgusting behavior. Do not waste your time here and find somewhere else with friendly staff and better seafood in Galveston.

After reading other reviews it seems like these issues have been issues for awhile here.
No wonder all the other Joe's has closed. This one may as well too.

Joe’s was Awesome with Our Puppy!

The staff at Joe’s was awesome with our puppy and held doors open for her as we even had to walk inside to get to the patio. Our waiter Kyle was great and brought a huge dish of water for her to even greet us at the table. Great experience even though she hated the birds that were tormenting her.

    Excellent service!

Was greeted with a smile. My puppy in my arms. Seated on the patio. Brought bowl of water for BamBam without having to ask for one. Relaxed atmosphere and extremely friendly staff. Love this place!

    Pooch Friendly And Good Food

We were able to walk through front door with our beagle and sit in the patio. The waiter was very friendly and offered a bowl of water for our pooch. The food was good as well.

    Compassionate towards fur babies

There is much I could say about our visit to Joe’s tonight. We drove an hour just to try this place out. I can speak about the food quality expected from a restaurant of this reputation, the delicious dessert I enjoyed, or the cool Children’s area they have set up. But I’ll focus on the service; tonight I left Joe’s Crab Shack extremely impressed and pleased by the service Benny provided our family. We enjoyed his conversation, his attention to detail, honest opinions and food suggestions. He was a lifesaver when he offered me bug spray for the mosquitoes that had been torturing me, and his attentions towards my children were appreciated. But I’ll share what REALLY impressed me about Joe’s tonight: I don’t know how pet-friendly Joe’s Crab Shack tends to be, but tonight when we walked in with our furry family member, they took care to seat us outside and near the kid’s section, even better. Unbeknownst to us, a fireworks show was being prepared at the beachfront feet from the restaurant. When the pyrotechnics started popping loudly, my little pup freaked. Upon seeing me try to hold him tight to calm him, staff offered I bring him inside to shield him from the noise. I declined the offer and held on to my baby tightly throughout the rest of the display, but you don’t know how grateful I was just to know something so important to us was noticed. Thank you Joe’s for being inclusive to our most beloved of family members!
