    We Agree. It’s Great

    wonderful vegan/veggie food
Friendly staff. They brought dog water.
10 or so outdoor tables, and that’s during Covid.

    Delicious

Stopped here for lunch food, atmosphere and service all excellent. Definitely will return. My husband had vegan mushroom burger and I had the grilled “cheese” both were delicious. Good wine and beer. Don’t forget the vegan ice cream.

    AMAZING :)!!!

I don't usually write reviews, however my goal is to get better at writing reviews and this seemed like the perfect review to write. So, I'm not a vegan, but I love vegan food and I AM gluten free not by "trend" choice but for health reasons which was diagnosed before gluten free became a "trend"...anyway, my boyfriend is a fast food loving, junk food eating, should be 300 pounds by what he eats but is slim, "secretly" goes out to fast food and "attempts" to hide the evidence kind of guy and I REALLY wanted to try Mesa Verde while we were visiting Santa Barbara, because the menu and the photos looked and sounded AMAZING and it had food my taste buds and I can really have fun with that I can actually eat and it was dog friendly with a great patio! So, the night before, I let my BF pick the restaurant for dinner, which was a very heavy Mexican restaurant that got me sick to my stomach, but "YES" he stuffed himself to the max till he felt bloated and sick (this was a good thing)!!! The next day I opened a bottle of wine and I put out cheese, crackers, potato chips and things that would not cause him to want to go out for some heavy, meaty meal again and I suggested that we have something light and healthy for dinner tonight since we did gross and heavy the night before and he agreed with me (woohoo)...I then suggested a vegan, gluten free place and he agreed to Mesa Verde (double score!) Of course, I was still nervous since we had never been there before and alternative food places can be risky to bring the canned, processed and fast food raised person to, so I stuffed us on pre-dinner munchies and wine to be on the safe side. Once we got there, we found this cute restaurant with a great outdoor patio and I'm a firm believer in energy attracts energy and tribe attracts tribe, so as soon as we walked in, there were other people there with their dogs who were friendly and we had an instant dog sniffing (not the humans, just the dogs) bonding fest and then we happily parted ways, which demonstrated the type of customers who came to the restaurant. Once there, my indulgent food loving boyfriend lusted over the Pomodoro pizza (not gluten free or vegan) and I was so over joyed about being able to order stuff that I never normally get to order in restaurants such as the summer veggie pasta, empanadas and Caesar salad, that I was singing at our table and making up a song about the restaurant and the food (I'm a bit over the top on gratitude and excitement in that way!) The food was SO GOOD and they even brought a water dish to my dog that was reverse osmosis water, which really excited me because I feed my dog raw food and I don't give him tap water. The meal ended with a Panna Cotta made from almond milk, which even my BF savored over and everything was not only delicious, the portions were huge! It ended up that there was no need to stuff ourselves ahead of time, because everything is very yummy and satisfying for both the vegan/gluten free and the non vegan/gluten free and PERFECT for the dog loving, fur baby parents to all have a great time. If you want great service, lovely atmosphere, dog friendly and feel good food, then Mesa Verde is the A+ place to go...btw, I'm a big foodie loving, doggie momma and I'm VERY picky about my food, the atmosphere and energy of where I go and Mesa Verde had it all in my opinion :)!
