Hays City Store
Once a gas station and corner store, Hays City Store is now a self-proclaimed, dog-friendly, "comfortable, classy, but unpretentious Hill Country gem of a restaurant." Hays City Store offers several tables outside to dog owners wanting to dig into a skillet fried chicken fried steak while Fido lounges underfoot. The City Store's menu includes appetizers such as Chili Cheese Fries, Wings, and a Chilled Salad Snack Board, sandwiches, soups, salads, brunch items, burgers, Frito Pie, hot dogs, pulled pork, grilled steaks, Shrimp and Crab Enchiladas, Fish Tacos, and much more. Beer, classic cocktails, wine, and margaritas are available to wash it all down. Regulars recommend ordering Fried Butterflied Gulf Shrimp, with Onion Rings. Hays City Store is open Monday through Wednesday from 11am to 9pm, Thursday through Saturday from 11am to 10pm and Sunday from 9am to 9pm.
