    just passing through

we were driving from Florida back to Toronto, Canada stopping for one overnight near Charlotte. The Dog Bar was one of the highlights of our vacation. A great place for our pup to burn off some steam after a long day on the road. This area of town seemed a bit sketchy at first, parking wasn't easy and washrooms were out or order. but who cares??? once we were inside everything was great. Bartender, dogs and other owners so friendly. and we really needed a cold beer. wish we had venues like this at home!!!

    know your dog

Great beer selection and great space for people and dogs. That being said, not all dogs can "handle" the environment- if your dog can't, leave. That way all can enjoy. This review is by someone who has a dog that gets too excited and ruins other dogs' time.

    Great during the week

I took my dog to Dog bar when he was about a year old. The space is very cramped, and a lot of the owners do not pay attention to their pets. He was harassed by a pit mix that wouldn't leave him alone even when he hid under the table to get away. this happens with dogs, so we left to give the pup some space to settle down and came back on a weekday night. Much better environment during a Mon-Wed night. Able to keep an eye on the pup and still let him have some space.

That said, I still prefer Lucky Dog Bark and Brew for the multiple areas and the much more expansive space. Lucky is also not afraid to politely ask owners of aggressive dogs to leave, which I appreciate.

    good times

It's great to have a place I can go and let my dog off the leash while having a few beers, you can't beat that. But there are some dog owners there who won't clean up after their dogs or keep an eye on them, that's a nuisance. Parking can be a problem and you might have to park a bit away if it's busy, but it's definitely a place worth going regularly, good times all around.

    quite the hot spot

We had a great time watching our dog run around and enjoy the other dogs. We laughed almost the whole time. All the owners were nice and easy going. The beer selections was good and many menus were available if you wanted to go get take out. We hope to come back soon!

    the BEST

The Dog Bar is awesome! The first time we went we literally were in awe for the first 20 minutes- it's hysterical. Gets busy in the weekends so be prepared to wait a while to get a drink. Hands down one of the best places in Charlotte for pet owners.

    Cocktails & Doggie Kisses

The Dog Bar is such a fantastic place to hang out. Why would you go to just a bar...when you could go to a bar that has puppies! Bring your dog, or just bring yourself and enjoy the dogs that are hanging out. There are receptacles placed around so that the dog owners can stay on top of cleaning up after their pets. And the K9 turf is sanitized regularly. (I have been to other dog friendly venues, where cleanliness was not a priority - no one wants to hang out amidst poop piles) Well stocked bar and plenty of TV's for game watchers on the weekend. Great relaxing place for dog lovers!

Dog park and bar in one

This place is unique and is fun but it is essentially a dog park that serves alcohol so don't expect any 'trendy' decor and certainly don't wear your best threads because the happy doggies will probably jump on you! All good fun.

    Fat Tire

The Dog Bar is a great mix of canines and humans. A testament to the saying that there are no bad dogs, just bad owners. These are dogs, off leash, having fun just being dogs. And the people are friendly and well behaved too, customers and bartenders alike. After all, how can you not be when surrounded by dogs.

Good cold beer, cocktails too, and a pile of take out menus from around NODA.

Dogs and Humans BOTH love it

This is a really great place to take your pooch where you can both enjoy yourselves. The double gated fenced in yard lets the dogs run off leash and the owners feel comfortable that they are safe. The bar inside is a great place to watch the game, grab a beer, and make new friends. They also do several dog friendly fund raisers for local rescue groups.

    The Dog Bar

The Dog Bar is a very cool fenced in, off leash bar for humans and their favorite companion. It is located in the art district (Noda) of Charlotte, NC. Water is available for the pooches as they play freely with other dogs while humans can order a beer for themselves and socialize. Great idea and a great time!
