Bark Yard, the best thing to happen to dog owners in the Springfield area!

Bark Yard is an amazing place to take your dogs to run and play off leash! The park is clean and well kept. There are climbing areas and bridges for the dogs to play on as well. They have a separate area for small dogs to run and play. For the humans they have a patio and bar that is open most afternoons and evening spring-fall and a walking path around the perimeter.
    The staff there is amazing!
We utilize the daycare weekly and boarding occasionally. We have always had a great experience. We can tell as the staff patrols the ground that our dogs love them. The minute they see a staff member they run over to them for affection and play. We do have the annual pass and cannot say enough good things about this place.

    Great for the dog!

Big 3 acre dog park, with lots of shade. Visitor’s day pass was easy and quick to get and was only $10. Great for letting our dog run around mid roadtrip.

cons- There were no balls or toys supplied for dogs to play with. We did not eat there so I’m not sure how the food is, but nothing on the menu appealed to us. More snacky type dishes like pretzels and fried cheese than a real meal.

    Fantastic!

Great food with outdoor seating. Huge area for dogs to play with tunnels and other activities. This is a must if you have a dog. We will be back weekly.

    More tailored to bigger dogs

disclaimer: We actually had a wonderful time and would go back. The staff was super attentive and kind. And I really appreciate going to a dog park with a facility like this for safety and incase of emergencies. This is more sharing my mistakes in planning so that other people can better prepare.

I took my miniature dachshund for his birthday around the time the first opened. The dog treats were cute but the first one was so stale I couldn’t even break it when I slammed it on concrete. They were very kind and let us get another one but it still was too hard for him to chew and we ended up giving it to a friend he made there.

The yards for different sized dogs are well kept, lots of effort has been put in so that the little dog area is just as enriching as the big dog area, and they do a great job ensuring the food stays in the patio area. There just weren’t any other little dogs. if I would’ve paid for him to play he would’ve been crying to go play with the big dogs. Which was my mistake, I was going to bring my other weenies but since it was his birthday and our first time I wanted Bruce to have all of my attention. If you’re bringing your small dog and you want them to be able to play with other dogs see if you can find a friend with one or bring both of yours so they’ll have a playmate. They do sell day passes. He still had an amazing time in the leashed area and a staff member brought her puppy to work and he got to play with them in their office.

The only actual suggestion I would have for them to make it “perfect” would be to add some more small dog friendly things to their dog menu. They might have already done that because it’s been a few months since we’ve gone. I just feel bad sitting there eating my sandwich and not being able to get something he can enjoy too.
