Ex-sergeant with the Shaler Township Police Department, Carl Funtal, loves to cook food from his youth, that speaks to his Polish-Russian-Czech-Austrian heritage. He used to watch his mother roll out the dough, cut it up, and stuff it with mashed potatoes and cheese. Now, he does the same thing at Cop Out. You get fourteen pierogies in a dozen, what a steal! Carl makes them with sweet potato, cottage cheese, hot sausage, cheeseburger, spinach feta, and many more flavors. They're open Thursday and Friday from 12pm to 4pm and Saturday from 11am to 3pm.

Starting off modestly in their kitchen with their three kids as assistant cooks, the owners stuffed and boiled their first potato and cheese pierogies to sell. Since then, they have expanded to two locations and offer thirteen different kinds of pierogies and a variety of Eastern European dishes. Their potato and sauerkraut pierogi is served with a side of stuffed cabbage and they have a number of other ready-made combos for you and Fido to enjoy. Forgotten Taste Famous Pierogies is open Monday from 11am to 6pm and Tuesday through Saturday from 11am to 8pm.
