Small cats and dogs can travel on domestic flights within Argentina if the combined weight of the pet and carrier does not exceed 20 lbs (9 kg). Fees for small pets traveling in the cabin start from $25 for short domestic flights and go up to $295 USD for select international flights.

Animals who exceed the limitations to travel in the cabin may be accepted for travel as checked baggage instead. Fido's spot on board the same flight as you isn't guaranteed and might vary depending on conditions and the type of aircraft. Only 1 animal is permitted to travel in each carrier. Fees for this service start at $330 USD and increase depending on the destination of your travel and the weight of your pet.

For pets traveling in the cabin, soft carriers should not exceed the dimensions of 17" x 12" x 8" (44 cm long x 30 cm x 20 cm) and rigid carriers should not exceed 17" x 12" x 7" (44 cm x 30 cm x 17 cm). Carriers must have a waterproof base with resistance, ventilation, and be large enough for the animal to be transported comfortably inside, allowing them to turn around and lie down. For pets traveling as checked baggage, carriers can be 23" x 18" x 16" (60 cm × 45 cm × 40 cm), 31" x 23" x 21" (80 cm x 60 cm x 55 cm) or 39" x 31" x 27" (100 cm x 80 cm x 70 cm) depending on the size of your pet.

The following breeds are not accepted in the hold with Aerolineas Argentinas: Bulldog, English Bulldog, American Bulldog, French Bulldog, Boxer, Japanese Boxer, Boston Terrier, Japanese Chin, Pug, Chinese Pug, German Pug, Pekinese, Lhasa Apso, Chow Chow, English Toy Spaniel, Mastiff, Staffordshire Bull Terrier, Tibetan Spaniel, Shih Tzu, Burmese Brussels Griffon, Exotic ones, Himalayan, and Persian.
