Passengers wanting to bring their pets on board with them need to contact Aerolineas Argentinas at least 72 hours before your departure time. Only 4 animals are accepted on board on each flight, so you should contact the Customer Service Team via telephone at (800) 333-0276 as soon as your travel plans are confirmed.
Pets in the Cabin
Small cats and dogs can travel on domestic flights within Argentina if the combined weight of the pet and carrier does not exceed 20 lbs (9 kg). If you're traveling with a puppy, they must be at least 45 days old to travel in the cabin. The fee for this service depends on the destination of your travel within Argentina. The fees range between 1,290-1,890 ARS for most destinations and $240 for all other destinations. Pets in Checked Baggage
Animals who exceed the limitations to travel in the cabin may be accepted for travel as checked baggage instead. Fido's spot on board the same flight as you isn't guaranteed and might vary depending on conditions and the type of aircraft. Only 1 animal is permitted to travel in each carrier. The fee for this service varies depending on the destination of your travel and the weight of your pet. For animals on domestic flights within Argentina that weigh up to 50 lbs (23 kg), the fee is 650 ARS; from 50-70 lbs (23-32 kg), the fee is 1000 ARS; and over 70 lbs (32 kg), the fee is 2000 ARS. For animals on regional flights to Uruguay and Brasil that weigh up to 50 lbs (23 kg), the fee is $60; from 50-70 lbs (23-32 kg), the fee is $120; and over 70 lbs (32 kg), the fee is $240 ARS. For animals on regional flights to Bolivia, Paraguay, Chile, Perú, Colombia, and Venezuela that weigh up to 50 lbs (23 kg), the fee is $80; from 50-70 lbs (23-32 kg), the fee is $160; and over 70 lbs (32 kg), the fee is $320 ARS. For animals on international flights to Europe, the Caribbean, and the USA that weigh up to 50 lbs (23 kg), the fee is 200 EUR; from 50-70 lbs (23-32 kg), the fee is 300 EUR; and over 70 lbs (32 kg), the fee is 400 EUR.
For pets traveling in the cabin, soft carriers should not exceed the dimensions of 19" x 12" x 8" (48 cm x 30 cm x 20 cm) and rigid carriers should not exceed 19" x 12" x 6" (48 cm x 30 cm x 17 cm). Carriers must have a waterproof base with resistance, ventilation, and be large enough for the animal to be transported comfortably inside, allowing them to turn around and lie down.
