Pets in the Cabin
Pets are permitted to travel in the cabin with Air Austral if the combined weight of the animal and carrier does not exceed 13 lbs (6 kg). Fido should remain inside their carrier throughout the journey. Dogs and cats under the age of 4 months are not accepted in the cabin. The fee for this service is included within your carry-on allowance.
Pets in Checked Baggage
Pets who exceed the combined weight to travel in the cabin may be allowed to travel in the pressurized hold instead. Animals and their carriers are included within the baggage allowance. Any animals who exceed the weight limit will be charged an excess baggage fee of 75 EUR for long-haul flights
45 EUR on regional flights.
Pets in Cargo
Pets who exceed the limitations to travel in the cabin or hold may be transported via cargo instead. This service is also for people who would like to travel separately from Fido. You can find more information by calling the Call Center at (+33) 825-013-012.
For pets traveling in the cabin, your carrier must be specifically designed for transport in the air. For pets traveling in the hold, carriers can be between 21" x 16" x 15" (54 cm x 41 cm x 39 cm) and 40" x 27" x 26" (102 cm x 69 cm x 67 cm). You should make sure the carrier has your pet's name and contact information inside.
Air Austral doesn't allow dogs they consider to be attacking, guarding, or defensive, including mastiffs, and those with a massive and thick body, a strong skeleton, and a thick neck.
