airBaltic is the flag carrier airline of Latvia and a low-cost airline. They welcome pets to travel in the cabin and the hold on most of their flights.Visit Website
When you're booking a trip with your pet, you should provide airBaltic with all the necessary information beforehand. Only a certain number of pets are allowed on each flight, so it is recommended you contact them as soon as your travel plans are confirmed. You can get through to their Customer Service Team at (+371) 6700-6006 to guarantee Fido a spot on the aircraft. If the number of pets exceeds the quota on a particular flight, or if the aircraft configuration does not allow for animal transportation, the airline can refuse transportation.
Pets in the Cabin
airBaltic welcomes small cats and dogs in the cabin, as long as the combined weight of the pet and carrier is under 17 lbs (8 kg). Each passenger may bring 1 carrier into the cabin, with up to 2 pets of the same species inside, but weight restrictions still apply. The fee for pets traveling in the cabin is 59 EUR for each direction of travel.
Pets in Checked Baggage
Pets who exceed the maximum weight restrictions in the cabin can travel in the hold instead. Pets traveling in the hold must weigh less than 165 lbs (75 kg). A maximum of 3 young animals (up to 6 months old) of the same species are allowed in 1 carrier. 1 passenger is permitted to transport 5 pets as cargo on airBaltic flights. Fees for this service depend on the size of your pets. Pets and carriers that weigh between 17-70 lbs (8-32 kg) are charged 100 EUR per direction; 70-165 lbs (32-75 kg) will be charged 200 EUR per direction.
Pets in Cargo
All animals that exceed the weight of 165 lbs (75 kg) can be shipped with airBaltic Cargo instead. You can contact one of the Handling Agents based in Latvia at (+371) 6-720-7861, or via email at email@example.com, for more information on shipping Fido as cargo.
