Pet Reservations

The transport of pets is not permitted on all Air Italy flights. Passengers should contact the call center via telephone at (718) 751-4499 as soon as their travel plans are confirmed to check availability.

Pets in the Cabin

Air Italy is happy to invite animals into the cabin if the combined weight of the pet and carrier does not exceed 22 lbs (10 kg). Passengers should remember that if the pet disturbs others, the Captain has the authority to transfer it to the hold. The fee for pets traveling in the cabin is 40 EUR for domestic flights; 50 EUR for international flights; and 70 EUR for intercontinental flights.

Pets in Checked Baggage

Pets who exceed the weight limit to travel in the cabin may be accepted for transport as checked baggage instead. The fee for pets traveling as checked baggage in the hold is 60 EUR for domestic flights; 90 EUR for international flights; and 100 EUR for intercontinental flights.

Carrier Guidelines

For pets traveling in the cabin, carriers must not exceed 19" x 13" x 11" (48 cm x 33 cm x 29 cm). They must be a sturdy and secure rigid or soft carrier with a leak proof bottom and proper ventilation. Carriers must allow animals to turn and crouch inside comfortably. For pets traveling in the hold, the animal must travel in a rigid carrier. The shell of the carrier must consist only of fibers of glass or rigid plastic. Additionally, carrier wheels must either be removed or taped over.

Other Restrictions

Animals younger than 3 months who have not yet received the anti-rabies vaccine can't travel in Italy or Europe. Pets are not permitted to travel on flights to the UK.
