Calm Air International
Pets in the Cabin
Small pets (dogs, cats, birds, rabbits, gerbils, guinea pigs and hamsters) can travel in the cabin with Calm Air if the combined weight of the pet and carrier does not exceed 20 lbs (9 kg). Animals must remain inside their carrier underneath the seat in front of you for the duration of the journey. Each passenger is permitted to travel with 1 carrier. Passengers transporting animals in the cabin will be charged a fee of $78.75
Pets in Checked Baggage
Larger animals who are traveling on the same aircraft as their owners can be accepted as checked baggage on some flights. 3 puppies or kittens under 6 months old from the same litter can travel in the same carrier. Additionally, 2 dogs or cats may travel in the same carrier if they weigh less than 31 lbs each. Each family is only permitted to travel with 2 pet carriers. The fee for animals weighing under 70 lbs (31 kg) is $78.75; and the fee for animals who exceed this weight is $157.50.
Pets in Cargo
Pets who are traveling alone or those with a combined weight with their carrier over 70 lbs (31 kg) must be transported as cargo instead. A maximum of 2 dogs or cats can travel in the same carrier if they are used to being transported together and weigh less than 31 lbs (14 kg). To find out more information, you can contact the Cargo Department directly via telephone at 888-225-6247, or via email at email@example.com.
For pets traveling in the cabin, carriers must not exceed the dimensions of 19" x 13" x 10" (48 cm x 33 cm x 25 cm). They can be soft-sided to allow easy transport underneath the seat. For pets traveling as checked baggage or cargo, carriers must be hard-sided with proper ventilation. They must be secure, in good condition, leak-proof, and contain absorbent material. The carrier must be large enough to allow Fido to stand up, turn around, and lie down comfortably inside. You must remove the wheels of the carrier before transport.
Animals must be at least 8 weeks old to travel with Calm Air. Pregnant animals are not permitted to travel. Reptiles (including snakes and lizards) and animals such as rats, mice, ferrets, and weasels are not permitted for travel in the cabin.
