Pets must be reserved a place on board at least 4 days before departure time. Most countries of destination have different stipulations surrounding the transport of pets. If you're flying to Cuba, only dogs and cats are allowed. If you're traveling to Egypt, only dogs will be permitted to travel. The following countries do not allow animals to be transported either in the cabin or checked baggage, but only as freight: South Africa (Cape Town) and Scotland (Edinburgh, Inverness).

Dogs and cats are permitted to travel in the cabin with Edelweiss Air if the combined weight of the pet and carrier does not exceed 17 lbs (8 kg). Animals must be 12 weeks old to to be accepted on board, except flights to the U.S. where pets must be 16 weeks old. Passengers are permitted to travel with 2 pets in the cabin. Pets must remain inside a soft carrier underneath the seat in front of the owner for the duration of the flight. The fee for this service ranges from 65-126 CHF.

Pets who exceed the maximum weight to travel in the cabin can be transported in the hold instead. 2 animals of comparable size and weight, less than 31 lbs (14 kg) each, may be transported in the same carrier together in the hold. Pet fees vary depending on the size of your carrier and the length of your flight. The fee for this service ranges from 115-437 CHF, depending on destination and size of carrier.

For pets traveling in the cabin, carriers must not exceed 21" x 15" x 9" (55 cm x 40 cm x 23 cm). Hard carriers are not accepted in the cabin, pets must be transported in a soft carrier. Carriers must be closed whilst on board and pet's heads must stay inside. The animal must stay inside the carrier, stowed under your seat for the duration of the flight. For pets traveling as checked baggage, carriers must not exceed the dimensions of 41" x 30" x 31" (105 cm x 75 cm x 79 cm).
