Pet Reservations
Only 2 animals are accepted in each class in the cabin with Egyptair. Contact the reservation department at least 48 hours before departure if you plan on traveling with a dog.
Pets in the Cabin
Small cats and dogs are welcome in the cabin if the combined weight of the animal and carrier does not exceed 17 lbs (8 kg). Each passenger is permitted to bring 1 carrier on board, which can contain up to 2 pets if they are used to being together and don't weigh over the limit. Pets must remain inside the carrier for the duration of the flight. Passengers must be over the age of 18 to travel with a pet.
Pets in Checked Baggage
Pets who exceed the maximum weight to travel in the cabin may be accepted for transport as checked baggage instead. Two pets who have a combined weight under 50 lbs (23 kg) may travel together. Pets who exceed 50 lbs (23 kg) are charged as 2 pieces of excess baggage.
Pets in Cargo
Pets who exceed the 99 lbs (45 kg), which is the maximum weight to travel as checked baggage, may be transported as cargo instead.
Carrier Guidelines
For pets traveling in the cabin, carriers should not exceed the dimensions of 21" x 16" x 8" (55 cm x 40 cm x 20 cm). For pets traveling as checked baggage, Egyptair recommends rigid carriers with dimensions of 39" x 26" x 27" (100 cm x 65 cm x 70 cm).
Other Restrictions
Cats and dogs must be at least 8 weeks old to travel. Animals are not accepted on flights to the United Kingdom, South Africa, Kingdom of Bahrain, United Arab Emirates, Republic of Yemen, New Zealand, and Australia. Pets weighing more than 70 lbs (32 kg) aren't accept on flights to Spain, Tunisia, or Tanzania. The following breeds of dog are not accepted on board: Affenpinscher, American Bulldog, Pit Bull, Shar pei, Chow Chow, Shih Tzu, Lhasa Aps, Boston Terrier, Cane Corso, Pekinese, King Charles, Tibetan Spaniel, Japanese Chin, Brussels Griffin, Dogue De Bordeaux, Boxer, American Staffordshire Terrier, American Pit Bull Terrier, Pug, Bull Dog, Staffordshire Bull Terrier and English Toy Spaniel. The following breeds of cat are not allowed to travel with Egyptair: Exotic, Himalayan, Persian and Burmese.
