Pets in the Cabin
Animals are allowed to travel with passengers in the cabin if the combined weight of the pet and carrier does not exceed 17 lbs (8 kg). The fees for this service vary between $50-210 depending on the destination of your travel.
Pets in Checked Baggage
Animals are permitted to travel as checked baggage with Iberia Express. Cats, dogs, household birds, fish, turtle, some rodents, amphibians, insects, crustaceans, reptiles (except aquarium turtles), rodents, and ferrets can travel as checked baggage. The maximum weight for animals in the hold is 99" (45 kg). The fee for this service varies from $120-435 depending on the destination of your travel.
Carrier Guidelines
For pets traveling in the cabin, carriers must not exceed 17" x 14" x 10" (45 cm x 35 cm x 25 cm), be strong, well-ventilated, secure, and have a waterproof floor. For pets traveling in the hold, carriers should be sturdy, comfortable, well-ventilated, waterproof on the bottom, and have a strong locking and closing system.
Other Restrictions
Brachycephalic (snub-nosed) breeds can only travel in the cabin on certain flights if the combined weight of the pet and carrier does not exceed 17 lbs (8 kg), including the following breeds of dog: Affenpinscher, Boston Terrier, Boxer (all breeds), Brussels Griffon, Bull Mastiff, Bulldog (all breeds), Cane Corso, Pug (all breeds), Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, Chihuahua, Japanese Chin, Chow Chow, French Mastiff, English Toy Spaniel, Brussels Griffon, Japanese Spaniel, Lhasa Apso, Maltese, Mastiff (all breeds), Pekingese, Miniature Pinscher, Pit Bull, Canary Mastiff, Saint Bernard, Shar-Pei, Shih Tzu, Tibetan Spaniel, and Yorkshire Terrier; and the following breeds of cat: Burmese, Himalayan, Exotic Shorthair, and Persian. Animals are not allowed in the cabin on flights to the United Kingdom. Iberia Express only accepts emotional support dogs when the origin or final destination of the passenger is the USA.
