There are a limited number of spots available for pets on each flight. You should contact the Reservations Department at 902-340-330 at least 48 hours before you plan on traveling to guarantee Fido a spot on board.

Small animals over 10 weeks old can travel in the cabin if the combined weight of the pet and carrier does not exceed 13 lbs (6 kg). If they don't exceed the weight limitations, more than 1 pet of the same breed can travel in 1 carrier together. Animals will be placed under the seat in front of you for the duration of the flight. The fee for animals traveling in the cabin is $100 each way.

Animals who exceed the weight limit to travel in the cabin may be accepted as checked baggage instead. The fee for this service is $240 each way.

For pets traveling in the cabin, carriers must not exceed the dimensions 21" L x 16" W x 9" H (55 cm x 40 cm x 23 cm). For pets traveling as checked baggage, carriers must be rigid and IATA-approved. Doors must be able to lock. Carriers must be ventilated on 3 sides with a waterproof bottom and properly labeled notifying the cabin crew which way up it should be held and details about the pet.

Pets who give off an unpleasant odor won't be allowed to travel on board. Additionally, the following breeds are considered dangerous by Plus Ultra, and won't be accepted on board: Pit Bull Terrier, Staff ordshire Bull Terrier, American Staffordshire Terrier, Rottweiler, Dogo Argentino, Fila Brasileiro, Tosa Inu, and Akita Inu. The following breeds of snub-nosed dogs won't be allowed to travel as checked baggage, but if they meet the other requirements, they can still travel in the cabin: Boston Terrier, Boxer (all breeds), Bull Dog (all breeds), Bull Terrier, Brussels Griff on, Chow Chow, English Toy Spaniel, Japanese Spaniel / Japanese Chin, Mastiff (all breeds), Pekingese, Pit Bull (all races), Pug or Carlino (all races), Shih Tzu, Staff ordshire Terrier, Shar-Pei, and Affepinscher; and cats: Burmese, Exotic short hair, Himalayan, and Persian.
