Pets in the Cabin

Small dogs, cats, and household birds can be transported in Royal Air Maroc's cabins if the combined weight of the pet and carrier does not exceed 17 lbs (8 kg). More than 1 small pet can be transported in the same carrier if they are used to each other and don't exceed the weight limit. The fee for this service is 290 MAD for domestic flights, 640 MAD for flights to Europe and Maghreb and 150 MAD for all other flights.

Pets in Checked Baggage

Dogs, cats, and household birds that exceed the limitations of transport in the cabin can travel as checked baggage instead. The maximum combined weight of the pet and carrier cannot exceed 165 lbs (75 kg) to be accepted in the hold. The fee for this service depends on the weight of your pet and carrier. Animals weighing up to 50 lbs (23 kg) are charged a fee of 580 MAD and flights to/from Europe; and 1730 MAD for all other flights. Animals weighing between 53-101 lbs (24-46 kg) are charged a fee of 1150 MAD for domestic flights; 1730 MAD to/from Europe; and 2880 MAD for all other flights. Animals weighing between 103-154 lbs (47-70 kg) are charged a fee of 2300 MAD for domestic flights; 2880 MAD to/from Europe; and 5180 MAD for all other flights.

Carrier Guidelines

For pets traveling in the cabin, carriers must not exceed 21" x 15" x 8" (55 cm x 40 cm x 20 cm). For pets traveling as checked baggage, carriers must be fully secured, robust, leak-proof, lockable, and have proper ventilation. Animals must be appropriate for the size of the animal allowing them to move comfortably inside.

Other Restrictions

Pets are not permitted on Royal Air Maroc flights to the UK, and on flights which are chartered and operated by the Qatar Airways. Additionally, the transport of pets is strictly forbidden on flights to and from Bilbao. Snub-nosed breeds of cats and dogs are not accepted on Royal Maroc flights either, including the following cat breeds: British Shorthair, Burmese, Exotic Shorthair, Himalayan, Persian, and Scottish Fold; and the following dog breeds: Affenpinscher, American Cocker Spaniel, Boston Terrier, Boxer, Brussels Griffon, Bulldogs (American, English, French and Dutch), Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, Chihuahua (apple-headed), Chow Chow, English Toy Spaniel, Japanese Chin, Lhasa Apso, Mastiff (all breeds), Pekingese, Pit-bulls (all breeds), Pugs (all breeds), Shar-Pei, Shih Tzu, Tibetan Spaniel, Bull mastiff, Cane corso, Carlins (all breeds), Dogues (all breeds), Epagneuls (all breeds), Mâtin napolitain, Pékinois, Petit brabançon, Staffordshire bull terrier, Brussels Griffon, and Griffon bruxellois.
