You can find out more information about Saudia's pet policy by contacting their Customer Service Team by phone at (+966) 920-022-222. The representative will be able to inform you of the limitations for pets traveling as checked baggage on board.
Pets in the Cabin
Small pets can join their owners in the cabin if the combined weight of the pet and carrier does not exceed 11 lbs (5 kg). Each passenger is permitted to travel with 1 pet in a carrier. The fee for this service is charged at twice the excess baggage price of the final destination (e.g. USA to Guanzhou, China has a pet fee of $250 for one way, and again for a round trip journey, whereas USA to Saudi Arabia has a pet fee of $150).
Pets in Checked Baggage
Dogs are allowed to travel in the checked baggage area if the aircraft you are traveling on is equipped with appropriate ventilation. The fee for this service is charged at twice the excess baggage price of the final destination (e.g. USA to Guanzhou, China has a pet fee of $250 for one way, and again for a round trip journey, whereas USA to Saudi Arabia has a pet fee of $150). For pets larger in size other than the cages specification, regular excess baggage charges will apply in addition to the regular pet charges of twice the excess baggage fee.
For pets traveling in the cabin or the hold, carriers must not exceed the dimensions of 21" x 13" x 16" (52.5 cm x 32.5 cm x 40 cm). Your pet's temporary home must have adequate ventilation and be leak-proof.
Saudi Arabia allows the entry of hunting, guard, seeing-eye, and hearing dogs for blind and deaf passengers only. Additionally, cats are allowed with the appropriate documentation.
