You should make your special booking for animal transportation as soon as you confirm your travel plans, but not later than 3 working days before departure with Sun Express. You can contact the Travel Center at 0090-444-0-797 to check the availability on your flight and to discuss restrictions.

Sun Express welcomes 1 cat or dog into the cabin per passenger. Pets and carriers must have a combined weight under 17 lbs (8 kg). For the duration of the flight, animals should stay on the floor in their locked carrier. Pets in the cabin will be charged 59,99 EUR each way on international flights and 249,99 TL on domestic flights.

Dogs and cats who exceed the maximum weight limit to travel in the cabin can be transported as checked baggage instead. Pets traveling as checked baggage will be charged 84,99 EUR each way on international flights and 499,99 TL each way on domestic flights.

For pets traveling in the cabin, the size of the lockable carrier must not exceed the dimensions for hand baggage of 21" L x 15" W x 21" H (55 cm x 40 cm x 23 cm). For pets traveling in the hold, carriers must not exceed the height of 33" (85 cm). They must allow air to circulate, be waterproof, and escape-proof. They need to allow pets to travel comfortably, turn around, and lie down inside.

The following breeds of dog will not be allowed to travel due to restrictions: Pitbull Terrier, American Pitbull, American Staffordshire Terrier, Staffordshire Bullterrier, Bullterrier, American Bulldog, Dogo Argentino, Fila, Brasiliero, Kangal (Karabash), Kaukasian Owtscharka, Mastiff, and the Mastino Napoleta. Emotional support dogs that are certified as ‘emotional dog’, are transported in the passenger cabin or in the cargo hold (AVIH) for free. Emotional support dogs can travel in the cabin without a carrier, but it is the responsibility of the passenger to present rabies vaccination report, passport and other vaccination documents, if any, as well as the permit certificate obtained from the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs if it is a Turkey originated dog or all other documents related to the destination country.
