Pet Reservations
The number of pets allowed on each flight is 5 in the cabin and 6 as checked baggage.
Pets in the Cabin
Small cats and dogs can travel in the cabin if the combined weight of the pet and carrier does not exceed 27 lbs (12 kg). Animals traveling with passengers must remain inside their carrier throughout the journey. Each passenger is permitted to travel with 1 pet on board. Pets must be healthy to travel in the cabin and be at least 8 weeks old.
Pets in Checked Baggage
Dogs who exceed the weight limit to travel in the cabin and weigh 99 lbs (45 kg) or less can travel as checked baggage instead. Pets must be 16 weeks old to travel as checked baggage
Carrier Guidelines
For pets traveling in the cabin, carriers must not exceed the dimensions of 18" x 14" x 8" (45 cm x 35 cm x 20 cm). Pets must be able to turn around, lie down, and move around their carrier comfortably. Additionally, carriers must be lined with sufficient absorbent padding to prevent leakage. For pets traveling as checked baggage, the maximum size for the carrier should not exceed 126" (320 cm). For the comfort and safety of pets traveling in the baggage compartment, carriers need to be rigid.
Other Restrictions
Snub-nosed animals are not permitted on flights with VivaAerobus.

It's great that Viva allows pets on board but make sure you read and/or understand the fine print. I booked a flight online to travel with pet in cabin. I was able to find a pet sitter so I tried to cancel the pet on board option. Once paid at time of booking, Viva will not give you a refund. Each leg within mexico was $85 CAD for the pet. FYI.
