Entry Requirements

Complete the following entry requirements to travel to Philippines with your pet:
  • Philippines is a high risk country for rabies. Before receiving an import permit to return to the U.S., travelers must obtain 2 pictures of their pet's front teeth, a CDC Rabies Vaccination and Microchip Record, a serologic titer from an approved laboratory and a passport photo of the owner. Once these items are obtained, apply for a permit for your pet to return to the U.S. at this link. For further guidance on returning to the U.S. with your pet from a high risk country, contact the CDC directly at cdcanimalimports@cdc.gov
  • Pets entering the Philippines must have an international veterinary health certificate from a licensed veterinarian in the country of origin.
  • Animals must also be microchipped for identification purposes.
  • If you are planning on bringing your pet, you will also need a Sanitary and Phytosanitary Import Clearance (SPSIC) from the Bureau of Animal Industry (BAI) before importation. Contact the BAI directly via email at strategiccommunications@bai.gov.ph for more information.

Quarantine Information

Pets traveling to Philippines do not need to be quarantined if they meet all the necessary requirements listed above. Dogs and cats who do not meet the requirements will be sent back to the country of origin at the expense of the owner.
