Entry Requirements
Complete the following entry requirements to travel to United Kingdom with your pet:
- Your pet must have a valid microchip for identification purposes.
- Visitors from other EU countries should obtain an EU Pet Passport before travel. If you are traveling from elsewhere, you will need a valid health certificate from a licensed veterinarian.
- Animals must be vaccinated against rabies with proof of a valid blood test for pets from countries with higher risks of rabies.
- Dogs must also have a tapeworm treatment. Your dog must be treated no less than 24 hours before and no more than 5 days before your arrival.
- A declaration also needs to be completed stating you are not going to sell or transfer the ownership of your pet.
- The EU Pet Travel Regulation covers the movement of up to 5 pets with their owners.
Quarantine Information
Pets traveling to United Kingdom do not need to be quarantined if they meet all the necessary requirements listed above. Your pet may be put into quarantine for up to 4 months if you do not follow these rules, or be refused entry if you traveled by sea, which may result in additional fees.
