Friendly, clean, and very welcoming!
Best Western Ramkota HotelGreat location. My daughter and I were meeting up with family to collect two 11-week old puppies. We had been on the road all day and were exhausted. The hotel was friendly, welcoming, and provided a room with a private exterior patio door that made it very easy to take puppies out in the night! Would definitely recommend.
Dog-friendly people
Super 8 by Wyndham Green RiverEveryone, from check in to the service staff was very dog-friendly and welcoming. There are adequate spaces outside for potty breaks and it's not hard to walk around a bit and stretch your legs. Access in and out of the building with two dogs pulling on harnesses was fairly easy, as was loading luggage. (I travel alone, so the logistics of getting in and out are always a challenge for me.) But as I feel is on brand for Super 8, the hotel itself was a little on the shabby side. Still, I gave it 4/5 because you get what you pay for and it was acceptable for a one night stay.
Lovely location, very quiet
Deer Haven InnI don't often go off the chain brands because of some bad experiences, but this one was NOT one of those situations. The Inn is as clean or cleaner than three-star brands. The property is quiet (I did hear some noise through the wall, but not enough to fuss about. More a matter of neighboring guest than the facility itself.) And the room was very comfortable and cute. As far as traveling with doggos, very very easy in and out, as I was able to back my car right up to my door. There isn't really a pet relief area on property but there are walking trails and parks all around, so I didn't find this problematic. Even for the 5 AM potty breaks. Would definitely stay here again!
Lovely location
Holiday Inn Sioux Falls-City Centre an IHG HotelThis hotel was the first stop on a month long road trip. I loved the location. My two dogs and I took a walk a couple blocks down the street to Falls Park. It's beautiful! On-leash walks are posted but early in the morning we did find a big empty field in which to throw the ball for a while before another long day in the car. The hotel is in a gentrified downtown area, and while I didn't walk anywhere but the park, it looks like you could walk in any direction and have a lovely time.
The hotel itself was clean and friendly. My only "complaint" was that the dog relief area on the hotel property is a small patch of grass only 10 x 10 square, and the layout of the hotel required an elevator ride and a few turns to get to it. But I'd choose this one again for the lovely park.
Convenient layout for traveling with dogs
Holiday Inn Express Spokane-Valley an IHG HotelThis little hotel, tucked next to I-90 in Spokane turned out to be so easy after having been in bigger convention style hotels. My dog-friendly room was on the ground floor at the end of the hall, but also had it's own exterior door, which made it easy for loading luggage and doggos in and out of the room. Pet relief area was pretty lacking, (unless I missed it) but it was easy enough to step out the door to some green grass in the parking medians and clean up as necessary. I liked that a 2 AM potty break took me less than two minutes and didn't have to be in full view of everyone. AND I just drove about a mile north to Mill Creek Park for some Chuck-it time the next morning before hitting the road. Room was clean and comfortable. Staff was friendly. Despite being right next to the freeway, it was quiet.
One of my favorite dog parks
Minto-Brown Island ParkI love this park. It is not fenced, but it is both big enough, and has clear enough designations that I have never felt like it was a problem. In fact the size and lack of fencing seems to discourage agression. There is a walking trail along the back of the property and a huge open field. Water fountains and a couple picnic tables.
As all dog parks go, it can be muddy after rain, and sometimes they can't keep up with the mowing (it's Oregon, after all.) But I love this one and take my dogs whenever I'm in town. Plus, there are miles of on-leash walking trails all around it.
