Not a great choice
The Wapiti LodgeThis motel did have a small grassy area but this area was also the kids play area and the family picnic area. Not exactly where you want your dog relieving himself. This grassy area was right next to the busy highway and you had to walk right along the highway to try and find a different spot for my dog. Loose dogs running around and were not leashed until I complained to the manager. In the room, there was no smoke alarm (not sure that is even legal) and there was only a button lock on the doorknob to the room. No deadbolt. No safety chain. I slept with a chair wedged under the doorknob. Would not stay here again.

Very dog friendly
The Lodge at Santa FeLots of grass and green space to walk my dog. Our room was on the first floor and very close to the exit so it made getting in and out of the hotel uncomplicated. Would definitely stay here again.
