I’m Rachel and I have a sweet beagle named Uno. I like good food and a lot of nerdy things!

For the American History buffs.
Boone Hall Plantation & GardensAdmission is kind of pricy but it’s a fun experience. You can do everything but the house tour (and maybe the wagon ride and butterfly pavilion) with your dog. I highly recommend the Gullah/Geechee (Southeastern African American culture) talk, which is almost worth the price of admission alone. There are also some stables (horses may or may not be inside), a beautiful garden, a cafe, some history talks about the colonial and early American life of both the slaves and the plantation owners, and of course several brick slave cabins that have been converted into a black history exhibit that covers from the foundation of Boone Hall Plantation to 2008.
I only gave this place 4/5 because there weren’t many places to properly escape the summer heat with the dog. I don’t recommend coming here in the summer. Try spring instead.
Beautiful beach
Kiawah Beachwalker ParkI love that this place has a dog washing station (with a hose) as well as showers for people. There are also changing rooms, picnic tables (off the sand though), and restrooms.
Yummy food and good hospitality
Page's Okra GrillI actually found this place first without my dog. Their food is amazing! I was pleasantly surprised that they allow dogs in their outdoor seating section. Not only do they allow dogs, but they brought out a bowl of ice water for our dog to drink while we ate.
