They did not honor our reservation

Holiday Inn Express Knoxville-Strawberry Plains an IHG Hotel

We were driving to Knoxville on Wednesday, July 27, 2022 in the late evening. We had earlier confirmed directly with the hotel that we had a reservation. At 1pm we spoke to the hotel: they told us that they were overbooked by 10 rooms, and that since we were ONLY an IHG club member status we could not have our reserved room, that was their POLICY. We were told we had a reservation but no room. This has never happened to us before. When I spoke to the manager they indicated a mistake was made. Somebody was lying. We will never stay at a Holiday Inn again because of this experience. This hotel left us stranded in the middle of the night with no room and two dogs. TERRIBLE.
