Great hike but prepare your pup
Palo Duro Canyon State ParkWe took our dachshunds (4.5 yrs old) on a day hike. We traversed the Upper Commanche to South Soapberry spur to the Kiowa. It was about 8 miles/3.25 hour hike. Our dogs are experienced trail hikers so please ensure your dog is ready to go. Bring lots of water as there isn't much shade on this trail, and there are ledges, lots of ups and downs, rocky trails. But yet it's so much fun and the landscape is beautiful. Always be weather aware as some of the trails are in canyons and flash flood prone.
Too small for small dogs
Railroad Park Dog ParkWhy do planners make such small dog parks for small dogs? We visited for the first (and last) time this weekend.
1. great parking
2. Bathrooms accessible
3. Walking around the sports park
4. Smells because it's near a landfill
5. How small can this place be?
6. Lots of uncollected dog poop
Will not.return.
Basic park for small dogs
Wiggly Field at Lake Forest ParkVisited a couple of times. Our dachshunds like it but get bored pretty quick. When no large dogs are in the big park (wouldn't take them over otherwise) they loved all the hills and chasing squirrels.
We walk the back path for a 10 minute extra.
Nice sized small dog park
Tails N' Trails Dog ParkEnjoyed this park on a weekend. Very busy and mostly used by small dogs, although someone had their full sized poodle in there. Nice mulched ground with lots of trees.
Decent walking trails behind the park.
