Our Dogs Love This Place
Stoney Creek Hotel Des Moines - JohnstonWe have stayed here several times and, while we love the whirlpool bath and screen porch, our dogs love the wooded surroundings and pet-friendly rooms. Quite a few restaurants in the area are dog-friendly, the Greenbelt is a great place to walk, and Snookie’s Ice Cream Parlor gives your pup a free doggie cone. We love stopping in Des Moines.

Covered Patio
PDQThey don’t go out of their way for dogs, but the outdoor patio is covered. Food is decent and staff is friendly.

Terrible Service
Sage Biscuit CafeWe don’t know if it was because we had a dog or because it’s just a crappy restaurant, but they seated everyone but us, and after a fifty minute wait, they said they needed to clear a dog table. Surly servers and a nonexistent bus staff. Another family with a dog left in disgust, and after an hour wait, so did we.
