Disappointed in Hostess Attitude
The Pit Authentic BarbecueLove the food here. But today we called ahead to make sure we could eat on patio w/dog before we drove over (we are from PA but love to eat here when in Raleigh). They said yes, come on over. When my daughter & I got there she went inside to check on getting table under the roof as it looked like rain would start any minute. She came out minutes later saying the hostess was terribly rude & that they only had servers for the front (w/no one out there eating) & had no server for the side deck under cover. My daughter asked if she could recommend somewhere in neighborhood & hostess laughed at her & blew her off. I then went in and got the basic “SOUTHERN SNARKY ATTITUDE” as she talked to me as well. I’m from Easter NC so I know that crappy snarky attitude too well. Last time I was this ticked at a hostess was 20 yrs ago at Emeril’s in NOLA when the hostess asked for a “c-note” to get us a table when we had previously made a reservation. I’ll never eat at The Pit again. There is plenty of good bbq in the area where I don’t have to put up with with this kind of attitude. Especially disturbing since my last visit we had a wonderful waiter. But the hostess is the front line, and this one really blew it. Not the way I want to be treated when looking for a lunch bite on Easter Sunday.
