Great location!
DoubleTree by Hilton Tucson Reid ParkLocation of hotel was nice as it was under 20 min drive to some local touristy spots.
However, we got placed in one of the outdoor rooms as well due to having dogs. Felt like staying in a motel. Although the outdoor gardens are nice due to the citrus fruits, we did not like being placed in this style room.
When we walked into our room, the tiles on the floor were poorly designed as it looked like there was feces everywhere. After careful observation, we realized it was just poor tiling choice. The carpet as well was dirty and had a huge stain.
There was barely any outlets for charging our phones. The only one available was on a wall by the foot of the bed and it did not hold a plug well as it was too loose. The shower/sink/toilet water also gives off a strong sulfur odor.
The warm chocolate chip cookies given during check in was a nice touch though!
Not great!
La Quinta by Wyndham RoswellOur room smelled like it was once a smoking room as soon as we walked in. Property is now smoke-free. Our shower had old cigarette burns on the tub and the bathroom smelled of mold. The bathroom lights take a few seconds to turn on. Hotel indoor pool is located right next to elevator so kids were tracking water into the elevator. Outlets to charge phones next to bed were behind nightstand so you had to pull it out. Night of our stay, there was also some sort of softball tournament going on so our hotel was packed and loud noises went on till late.
Bad location for dogs
Kimpton Hotel Fontenot, an IHG HotelWe were given a room on the 10th floor after requesting to be away from elevator and high foot traffic due to having our dogs with us. Room was very clean and spacious. Only complaint is there is no grass around the property for the dogs to go. Only place we found was in the median on the road which was pretty dangerous.
One night stay
La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Austin NW/Lakeline MallWe arrived in the afternoon and asked for a room away from the elevator and/or heavy traffic because we had our two dogs with us and they react to noise. We were first given a room at the end of the hallway on the first floor. When we entered the room, we had spotted black pellet like things all over the floor and carpeting. At first we thought it was mice droppings so we quickly took our dogs and all our stuff back to reception. Justin at the front desk alerted us that in Texas there are a lot of critters and when it rains they tend to go inside and was told they were roly polys. I hate bugs so asked for a reassignment. Justin was able to get us another room on the third floor and it was perfectly clean and bugless. I would recommend housekeeping to address this more regularly when it rains so customers don’t freak out when they first walk into their room after a long day.
Great food
Peppers Grill & BarWe were stopping in Roswell for one evening and was looking for a place to eat with our dogs. This place came up and had great reviews so we stopped by. Unfortunately, it started raining so we were unable to dine outside so we had to take out our food and eat it in the car. Chicken quesadilla and chicken bbq bowl were both yum.
Great view
Mulligan’s Grille in Historic Cottage RowService was excellent. Food was good. Fish tacos were amazing! View of ocean in distance. Heat lamps were turned on by staff because it was a bit chilly and windy.
Southern Cuisine
Poogan's PorchWe had a yummy dinner here having authentic Southern cuisine for the first time. I had booked a reservation online and alerted the staff about our two dogs. They noted it in their system and sat us upstairs on the porch. Felt like a true southern experience. Porch and seating were a little dirty from bird droppings and a bit crammed. The food made up for it though and is on the pricier end.
Recommend: pimento cheese balls, fried chicken, and pecan pie
Excellent!
La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Atlanta Ballpark/GalleriaComing from a clean freak, this room was very clean and well maintained. We had just come from two not so good experiences so we were extremely relieved. The front desk staff were friendly and accommodating! About 15-30 min drive to all visitor areas: Downtown, Buckhead
Convenient location
Best Western Charleston InnPros: Rooms were fairly clean despite carpeting, staff were nice, lobby was beautiful, complimentary breakfast, 15-min drive to King Street
Cons: carpeting, motel style hotel not shown in pictures, complimentary breakfast on patio but was wet from sprinklers so unusable, toilet would not flush
Convenient Location
Ramada Plaza by Wyndham Nags Head OceanfrontWe had a room on the first floor by the side door entrance at end of hallway. Room was not very soundproof considering location. Our dogs heard everything outside our door. Room was not well cleaned or maintained. We saw a poop smear as soon as we walked in. Our dogs would not stop sniffing the floor. There were flying insects in the room. Two out of four pillows were dirty.
Pros: front desk staff were very friendly and great with dogs. They even gave welcome treats to our two dogs. Location is also great. Short drive/walk to restaurants.
