Nice staff
La Quinta Inn by Wyndham BendStaff was nice. There is a fairly large dog potty zone. Dogs didn't seem interested since it's bare bones (no surviving grass and no mulch) so the rocks close to rear entrance were more popular.

Didn't go for luxury
Shilo Inn Suites Hotel - NewportThe rooms are sooo old. The deadbolt doesn't work. The fridge is a freezer (watch out yogurt!), the room has a wiff of old dog pee. The very cool thing is that the shower head outputs a blast of water that will get the sand out of your brain, LOL. There is a tiny trash basket. Since there is no turndown service during COVID (which is great) it would be helpful to have a larger bin and have another in the bathroom (I thought that was standard). Watch out if you wear flip flops as the bottom of the room door might try to take a chunk out. Giving it 3 stars because I didn't come to hang in the room but roam the coast. The front desk staff is nice. You get to park close to the rooms (dog rooms are at lower level of main building facing the ocean). Is it worth $250+ a night? Let's just say that depends on how bad you want to spend the night on the coast
