Super nice - but call ahead for lunch
Germano's TrattoriaThey were so...so nice. We arrived for lunch to find they were only open for dinner. But they brought chairs out to the patio, recommended food from another restaurant, brought water for us and the dogs and stayed to chat. Oh, how I wish we could had tried to food! But what wonderful, wonderful people. A perfect dog place--just call ahead (they've had construction going on and so have had trouble getting traffic to their place). In Sept, they have a chalk art festival in little Italy, too.
Recommended - great food and friendly
AnejoAnejo was near our hotel so we decided to ask if the patio was ok for dogs. They said yes--what a great find! They brought water for us and the dogs, the food was fantastic (try the lamb, and order the guac trio--and whatever else the waitstaff recommends!). Had a great wine list. Hubby had a first class margarita and I had a fine malbec. For NY the price wasn't bad. Dogs had a good time too with the left overs.
Comfortable and friendsly
Ink 48 HotelWe stayed with two dogs, one fairly big. The staff was super friendly, the room reasonably quiet, and the bed very comfortable. There's a park within a few blocks of walking down 11th Ave that has a dog run and we met lots more friendly dog folks. The cafe had great chocolate croissants, and for NY the price wasn't bad at all.
Romantic and Beautiful
Battlefield Bed & Breakfast InnHad a great stay. The staff is not just friendly but knows the history and obviously loves working here. The rooms are beautiful and the grounds are just as lovely. The dogs are welcome everywhere, and they were as relaxed as we were. We stayed in Houghtelin's Hideaway and it was great to have access to the gardens. If we're ever back in Gettysburg, we'll be staying again.
Great Food and a Dog Menu!
Boathouse at Forest ParkWe picked this place for lunch and loved it! They welcomed us and our dogs, and the food was amazing. I had the pulled pork--best ever. Hubby had the bbq salmon on a croissant. Both were wonderful. The mezze plate was a great appetizer, all veggie, too. The spot was lovely. Dogs got their own bowls of water, their own menu, and much admiration as well as time to enjoy watching the ducks. Overall, one of the best stops on our trip!
